\r\n \r\n Hi kind2creatures - I am working on recipes for quick things for family and just finished this one. I found trehalose instead of sugar and love it. By the way, this is a new experience since I have not done most of the cooking in 40 years. My husband could have been a chief and I always let him.

\nThe best custard pie I ever made.

\nGrandma’s Egg Custard with Trehalose Pie
\nIngredients
\n1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust (Non GMO)
\n3 eggs, beaten (Country eggs raised on farm)
\n1 Cup Trelose instead of sugar
\n� teaspoon salt
\n1 teaspoon vanilla extract
\n1 egg white (brush over pie shell before cooking)
\n2 � cups scalded milk (Raw milk)
\n� teaspoon ground nutmeg
\nPreheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C)
\nMix together eggs, trelose, salt and vanilla. Stir well then blend into the scalded milk.
\nLine pie pan with pastry, and brush inside bottom and sides of shell with egg white.
\nPour custard mixture into piecrust and sprinkle nutmeg on top. Cook 35-40 mins.\r\n
