I have just recently started using castor oil packs... at first I thought it would be a real mess and not worth the hassle... not too much of a mess, and the results amazed me!!! I will keep it in my bag of tricks.... As much as my kids laugh at me for all these weird concoctions I learn about, Im the first one they come running to when something is wrong!!!

Thanks to all. Its amazing the things in life that have always been common and around us and have the best benefits! Talk about an easy, natural way to heal complicated issues!
If this mass in my breast comes back positive, I'll probably go with the B17 and this castor oil pack. I certainly have nothing to lose. I should probably do the c.o. pack anyway.
I've still not had a scan. I contacted my primary care and though she wouldn't prescribe a different test, she did fill my request to refer me to a different oncology center. I'm waiting now on record transfers and an appointment. I hope I this new doctor won't give me a hard time about a mammogram cause I'll just have to walk again!

Judie

Generally, the protocol for breast lumps is a mamogram first. If it is positive then a sonogram follows, then if indicated a biopsy. This is what the insurance companies want.

Perhaps if you offer to pay for the sonogram out of pocket you will get what you want.

A thermography is $300.00. I know ins. co. will pay for the sonogram with the doctors referral, but thats the issue. I'll find one that will do it eventually.
I live near Albany, NY., so if anyone has an idea of a good holistic doc nearby let me know. I'm about 2 hours north of NYC. Thanks.

I am wondering, wouldnt it be better for Judie to go ahead and start the castor oil packs now??? I also wonder if iodine would help her... Why do I keep thinking that rosie used iodine or recommended iodine for lumps in breast??(gosh wish she could spend more time with us!) Even if the lump isnt cancerous, you still dont want it in your body right?? I would think the castor oil packs would be the least intrusive way to get rid of the dern thing....I mean, granted, if it were me, Id be slapping the thing around yelling at it, telling it to get out of my body... what was that play... out damn spot, out!!!!

Hopefully in the future Insurance companies will be more giving, as clearly they're restricting the person in instances like this, by not showing more understanding about the persons needs.

Judie, I hope things work out for you, and I hope you that life brings you many warm moments on such a difficult journey.

Best wishes.

It is thought that sufficient iodine levels may help prevent breast cancer. Breast tissue holds a lot of iodine.

After I started iodine supplementation fibrocystic lumps disappeared. My doc says she sees these kind of results all the time. I once went through the scare thing having to have a sonogram after a mamogram for those lumps. Thats when I decided no more mamograms for me, over 10 years ago now.

And yes, I would start the castor oil packs now too. Although rare there have been reports of tumors disappearing after castor oil packs.

Great article, Arrowwind,

As a matter of fact, it was Leppert who helped me with my first castor oil pack over three years ago. I did it just way she explains it using a gauze pad because that is what I had on hand at the time. I was planning on flying to Utah in three days and was very worried about the hard painful lump that appeared out of the blue on my breast. I was sceptical, but because I had nothing to lose, I decided to try it. The pain was gone in a day, and the entire lump was gone in approximately three days. I was thrilled that I did not have to worry about it while on vacation! I miss Leppert. Is she here using another name?

Judie,

I would not hesitate to do this. I can see no reason to wait until you get tested. You will want to get rid of it even if it is not cancerous. Good luck!

Sally B, I had e-mails with Leppert a long while ago - it feels like a long while!- she was having extra physiotherapy and busy doing other things. I don't think she has been here.
I can tell her you have asked for her, though. You two go back a way.

E-mail sent.

So probably the best and easiest way to do the castor oil pack on my breast is to use gauze, oil, plastic, and then the heating pad?

Judie, I have the instructions, somewhere here on my PC. Do you need them, or do you know already how it's done?

The link that arrowwind provided above goes into detail on the wrap, and I was just trying to simplify the procedure with my question. I just wanted to be sure I got the gist of it. I had never heard of this before today.

Judie,

That is exactly how I did it. I had no experience using castor oil. You really can't do it wrong. You can use a cotton flannel, but I don't think it's necessary, the gauze works fine. Although, if I had a large gauze bandage with plastic on the outside already, I might use that. The important thing is to make sure you keep the castor oil on the skin and add more when needed. The gauze pad was about four inches across and the lump was about 1/2 inch across, so it was quite a bit larger than the lump and covered a good area around the lump. I used plastic wrap with surgical tape, although it is difficult to keep it from moving if the tape gets oil on it. I used the same pad the entire three days. I used a heating pad when it was practical. I guess you'll have to experiment a bit to make it work for you.

Default breast lumps

Judie, you can repeat the castor oil pack as often as necessary but if it comes back right away(more than once a year) then you need to do some other work. My lump, which is usually not palpable starts getting bigger and painful when it has been too long since I've done a cleansing. Pushing 63 I now cleanse twice a year.

I first got rid of my very severe fibrocystic breast disease by doing a very thorough cleanse. I use the Dr. Richard Schulze system, but I'm sure most systems would work. www.herbdoc.com

What I've learned too since then is that most cysts are a symptom of iodine deficiency. I did a self test many years ago and the dot of medicinal iodine was sucked up in less than 1/2 hour. Guess that explains the severe boob problem. I have not had painful breasts in about 15 years, other than my "canary" lump that lets me know when it is time to cleanse.

I do take iodine daily now and just started on Dr. Donsbach's combination iodine that seems really good. Certainly better than Lugols solution in water-yuck! www.letstalkhealth.com

I'm sorry I've ignored my old group but this has been a tough 2+ years. We had an auto accident March 17, 2006 and my Dr doubled my PT time and I go to therapy 3X a week still. My left hip was really messed up and I have "end stage osteoarthritis". Can't do a hip replacement because of my sensitivity to metals. I'm waiting for the hyaluric acid injection to be approved for the hip. Knee success is about 50%-sounds good to me.

Love and blessings to you all-thank you for the reminder of my neglected friends Jo!

Leppert
