Exclamation Brain problems , need immediate help !!!

Hello .

I am new to this forum , and thats because i have a huge problem and i need help right now . I hope you guys can help me .

I am Tom . I am 14 years old and go to school every day just like other normal 14yr old boys. I'm in 8th grade , and i have pretty much home work every day . (1 hour at least ) I feel tired all the time .

So it all started that today i couldn't remember my name . It have never happened before , and i was really scared . I had to put down my name on a test paper , but i couldn't remember it . So i turned to a guy sitting next to me and asked him what my name was , ofc he tought i was kidding but answerd the question .

Back story. I haven't studied alot when i was younger , and last year and this year i decided to take up studiing and get better grades . I could never get higher than a B , however hard i tried.

Thinking back , i always forgot like formulas for math and science , but i was pretty smart .

Example : Last week a took a 10 question IQ test two times , and when i came home today i did it again , but i only got 2 right . The one i took a week ago , i had all of them right . SAME QUESTIONS .

I sleep 7 hours and 50 minutes on weekdays . I still feel tired. I don't eat alot of vegetables and i don't drink alot of water. I sit infront of the computer ALL THE TIME . Seriously. I have a super strong internet addiction , once i tried to cut down half an hour but then i couldn't sleep .

Also , last friday i had a very bad head ache.

So my question is : WHATS UP WITH MY BRAIN ? !

I know it's loosing information all the time . I can't remember what i learned in french yesterday . I DON'T KNOW WHAT MY TEACHERS AND FRIENDS NAME ARE ....

PLEASE HELP !!! I AM SOO AFRAID!!!! AM I GOING CRAZY ?! PLEASE HELP ME !!!

You need exercise to properly oxygenate your blood so that your brain can function well.

If you are tired all the time and have memory issues, I would think you are lacking nutrients. You can't live on pop tarts and pepsi, and all the electromotive force from the computer screen is not helping.

You need exercise, but also nutrients... not sugar or corn syrup, but real nutrients that come from fruit and veggies.

Did you know that if you sit in front of a computer for hours at a time you can develope blood clots in your legs? Take a break at least hourly and stretch your legs or walk around a little.

Fix your memory now or it will completely fail you before you turn 40.

Firstly with the symptoms you mention, headaches and memory problems you should get checked out by a doctor.

It sounds like you could be suffering from the effects of high radio frequency(RF) and low frequency(LF) electromagnetic radiation (EMR), from your computor. All computing equipment radiates electromagnetic radiation of varying frequencies and anybody working at a computer is going to get in the path of this radiation and it can cause illhealth, particularly after long periods on the computer.

If you have a WiFi system and a computer, monitor, printer and router all within a short distance from were you sit you are getting a fair amount of RF and LF EMR. Another major source of RF are DECT Cordless phones, which are continually emitting RF from the docking base unit even when the phones are not in use. These can cause a lot of symptoms particularly if situated in bedrooms or close by on computor workstsations.

Here's some tips to help cut down your exposure to RF.

My advice is to get off the computer completely for for a week and see if symptoms improve. Go play ball or soccer, you will never be 14 again.

First , Thank you for helping . Second , i do "live" on pepsi and coffee , caffeine is the only way i can stay awake . I also notice that i drink ALOT of sugary drinks - ice tea , coke , pepsi , coffee , tea and also eat alot of chocolate .

I'll try to cut down with the sugar too .

And is it really true that if i fix my memory now , it will fail when i am 40? :O Thats shocking ...

He meant that if you do not fix your problem now, your memory will fail at 40 (or roughly thereabout). You consume a huge amount of caffeine. It is an addictive substance. You will have withdrawal symptoms upon dramatically cutting back or ceasing to consume caffeinated substances. Severe headache and inability to think are two of the withdrawal symptoms. You might want to wean yourself little by little so that your withdrawal is not traumatic.

Now that you mention how much sugar you are consuming, I think that you are experiencing blood sugar swings. A sugar low makes a person disoriented, tired, and causes brain fog. Good (real) food to replace your sugar consumption is definitely in order!

Everyone here has given you tips that will help you. I wanted to stress the importance of the wifii and cordless phone EMF's. They are very, very high and can cause some brain issues. Getting them away from your computer is good. The two largest and most damaging sources for EMF's are cordless phones and wifii. You will feel better with the cordless gone. Get a regular wired phone. Also change your wifii to a wired internet service.

Your biggest problem is the DECT cordless phones. Each one of these is capable of emitting up to 50 times!!!! the power of a regular mobile phone. This power is being spewed into your bedroom 24/7. These phones are a cancer waiting to happen, get back to a wired phone connection.

Hello Tom,

you have been given some good advice here but I really do think that you need to tell you parents exactly what is going on with you. Your symptoms are serious and need medical attention. Although being around computers and wifi and all the electronic stuff is not so hot for the body it should not be causing you to not remember your name.

You need a full work up with a doctor

I do know that if you are drinking diet sodas or eating foods with aspartame in it this can contribute to memory loss as I have been though this myself. The cure was as simple as not consuming foods with aspartame in it.

But in your cass I suggest that you need parental support. Do not try to figure this out yourself. Although you can come here for ideas please get your parents on board.
They need to know that you are having memory issues so they can help you to find out what is going on.

Hi Tom, welcome to the forum. I have to say that excessive coffee, sugar, computer use and lack of exercise can absolutely be the cause of headaches, memory loss, lack of sleep, etc.

Your memory loss is serious if you can't remember your name, friend's names, etc. I have to ask if you're taking any prescription medications right now that may be causing some side effects.

I think you should seek some guidance for your problems from your parents or guardian, and a medical check up is a good idea. It's definitely not too late to turn things around, you have age on your side to be sure.

Considering your caffeine, sugar, diet and exercise habits, I think you can be healthier mentally and physically with some easy changes. Look in the mirror, and see for yourself what needs to happen. You have the power to make it happen, be good to yourself, you won't regret it as a healthy adult. We're here to help out if you need support to move forward and drop some of your bad habits.

I'm not taking any medications , nether do i do drugs , smoke or drink .
I've always been 100% healthy except the lack of exercise .

I've also moved my router and got a wired phone , and i try to cut down my computer time . But what computer time do you recommend ? I use my computer for 1 hour work , and the rest just pointless time wasting . I usually use it for 5 hours ...

Caffeine is really not a big problem , i am not so addicted to it i just drink coffee to stay awake , not for the pleasure . I understand that it's a big problem , so i cut that down too . And i also started to eat some fruits .

I will start exercising i just down know how . I figure something out .

I am kind of afraid that my parents won't belive me when i tell them that i have problems , but i guess it is just a chance you have to take .

Thanks you all for commenting , it really helps a lot .

You need to see a naturopathic doctor and talk to your parents about it. You could be suffering from B vitamin deficiency or other diet issues. This kind of stress can often be well treated with supplements and diet but you need someone who can help you get to the root of the issue.

Many of the neurotransmitters that keep you on an easy keel and feeling well are producted in the gut and are highy dependent on your nutrition for balance and good function.

Walking briskly whilst swinging your arms forward and back is exercise. Does your family own a dog, Tom? Taking a dog for a walk is a good form of exercise. When I was younger, if I had nervous energy, I used to like to run around the block. I wasn't jogging, I was running as fast as I could. Is there a Boy's Club in your area? You could go there to swim, play basketball, or do other activities.

You may have a condition called hypoglycemia. When the blood sugar falls too low, a person can begin to shake and not be able to think properly. A person can become angry and scared because of not being able to think or because of shaking. I have hypoglycemia. It means that I have to eat several small meals each day. I usually eat something every two hours. I don't eat a lot of sugar. Protein is very important in helping to keep the blood sugar from falling too low. Certain foods, which are high in sugar, will give me symptoms such as you described about an hour after I eat them. First my blood sugar goes way up from these foods, then the blood sugar level crashes--goes too low. White rice is a problem for me. I don't feel good an hour after I eat it. Eating fruit or raw carrots makes me feel the same way, unless I eat some nuts or meat within an hour of eating the sugary fruits. (Some vegetables, like carrots, have a lot of sugar in them.)
