Talking Still Have Power!

Keep yer fingers crossed for me!
lol
Luckily we (NW jersey) didn't get the pounding that was expected, about 5ish inches of snow here. The problem is it's a heavy snow & it's windy... so there's still a chance branches are going to fall on powerlines.
So far so good though!

It's the wind that I hate. I have friends in Yonkers, NY. They said they got about an inch yesterday. I'll bet it is much more today.

I still don't know why humans settled in those northern border states. Even the fur trappers migrated. It is not a life. It is just surviving.

Here's why people settled in those northern border states. Yesterday when the warnings came of a pending big snow storm the biggest selling items in the stores were liquor and gasoline.

Most of NYC got about a foot, don't know about Yonkers. LI got slammed with 2 1/2 feet lol

Fur trappers only had wood & matches to keep warm though
I love 4 seasons.. this morning the sky was a dark blue and the sun was kissing the snow. It was just beautiful, sparkles all over~ I opened the deck slider & the air was crisp & clean and then I slammed that succa quick cause I was still in my nighties LOL
We really only have a few huge storms a year.. if you're prepared, it's easy to get through them. The only thing I'm lacking is a woodburning stove.

If I were to move to a hot location, I'd be miserable because I'm an outdoorsey person & I'd end up being in the A/C most of the day.

Good luck Cookie! Been hearing about those snowstorms on the news. Hope you stay safe, warm, and well lit up. Power lines and roofs are always the first to go.

I heard they made it illegal to drive at all on the roads in Massachusettes, I don't like that, responsible folks who have four-wheel drives, should not have their driving priviledge removed. We have a Jeep Cherokee that's performed like a little tank in severe snowstorms, same with our Dodge Cummins Diesel.

Everything went smoothly for us this time.. yay!!! We got lucky

From what I understand, plows weren't able to keep up with the snowfall so people were getting stuck all over up there due to drifts on the road ways, etc. The stuck vehicles were interferring with the plow trucks trying to keep roadways clear for emergency vehicles.

Thanx Ozzie, everything went fine this time 'round
You've been getting alot of flooding lately, haven't you?

Yep, all that global warming jazz.. funny nobody's talking about it now lol
I'm still a firm believer that the earth goes through normal cycles on so many various scales. There might be a cycle that hasn't been documented yet because the year span extends beyond when record keeping began (such as the magnetic internal switching.) All these 'experts' look outward, it's under the hood , the internal earth, we should be studying more.
Anyway, even with all the glacier melting and everything, I believe we're on the verge of a mini ice age.
