In the comments section of the blog there is some discussion of the Statins in Water supply Debate and someone mentioned that tapwater quality is such that many pharmaceutical drugs are measurable in public water from being recycled from other users.
This lead to
Pharmaceuticals in Drinking-water
where all the drugs you are taking by drinking water are listed.

So the idea that statins in the water supply are contributing to increased diabetes incidence while unlikely at present levels is certainly not helping.

OMG! Check out all those pharmaceuticals. No wonder bacteria are developing resistance. It seems that this should be a priority for water companies to figure out a way to filter. I don't know of many household filters that can eliminate them, except maybe reverse osmosis.

That was a good article, however, not really news to me.

Every once in awhile someone will post they live in an area that has great tap water. They are told their water is safe to drink and cook with, then along comes the truth.

I've stated several times that people should never drink tap water, no matter where you live. They cannot filter out drugs, so whoever drinks tap water gets some free medications with every gulp. That includes having coffee at your favourite timmies.

Tap water can be used for showering, (should have a chlorine filter) for washing dishes, and as a supply line to the toilet. It can also be used to water the lawn/garden, but under no circumstances should be injested by humans or pets.

I would suggest reverse osmosis water or natural spring water for drinking and cooking with. Since reverse osmosis water is nearly pure, (0-5 ppm) it is necessary to add minerals, or supplement with minerals on a daily basis.
