I have no symptoms anymore. It takes a while to settle down. If the antibiotics and supplements are going to work you will notice a slow but steady improvement with ups and downs during treatment and after about 2 months or so you'll notice things start to improve dramatically. No matter if you sit for long periods, ejaculate often or whatever. For sexual dysfunction to get better you need to give it some time for the prostate and nerves to settle down. Upto 3 months! I get morning erections EVERY MORNING now, and I can ejaculate twice a day with no issues. I am working 40 hours a week and I sit down in my job.

Take the antibiotic (pereferably 200mg of doxy per day or 400mg of trim a day), with bromelain, quercetin, allicin. (and the others I've mentioned here if you want!). Ejaculate every 2 days, avoid sitting, do your stretches and relax the pelvic floor. You relax the pelvic floor when you go to the toilet. It will feel weird at first trying to learn to relax these muscles but you will notice there is some tension there. Even I did... but it wasn't the 'cause' of the issue. Just added to the symptoms.

I want to share this again because it stresses my point about combining treatments. The study wasn't the best design, but it is good enough. I doubt the greater number of patients who had no symptoms was just a placebo cos they knew they were taking the supplements in addition to the quinolone antibiotic

Serenoa repens associated with Urtica dioica (ProstaMEV) and curcumin and quercitin (FlogMEV) extracts are able to improve the efficacy of prulifloxacin in bacterial prostatitis patients: results from a prospective randomised study.

Abstract

We report the results of a prospective randomised study to evaluate the therapeutic effect of Serenoa repens, Urtica dioica (ProstaMEV), quercitin and curcumin (FlogMEV) extracts associated with prulifloxacin in patients affected by chronic bacterial prostatitis (CBP). From a whole population of 284 patients, 143 patients affected by CBP [National Institutes of Health (NIH) class II prostatitis] were enrolled. All patients received prulifloxacin 600 mg daily for 14 days, in accordance with antibiogram results. Patients were split into two groups: Group A received prulifloxacin associated with ProstaMEV and FlogMEV; Group B received only antibiotic therapy. Microbiological and clinical efficacies were tested by two follow-up visits at 1 month and 6 months, respectively. Quality of life (QoL) was measured using the NIH Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index (CPSI) and International Prostatic Symptom Score (IPSS) questionnaires. Group A comprised 106 patients and Group B comprised 37 patients. One month after treatment, 89.6% of patients who had received prulifloxacin associated with ProstaMEV and FlogMEV did not report any symptoms related to CBP, whilst only 27% of patients who received antibiotic therapy alone were recurrence-free (P < 0.0001). Significant differences were found between groups in terms of symptoms and QoL (P < 0.0001 for both). Six months after treatment, no patients in Group A had recurrence of disease whilst two patients in Group B did. Questionnaire results demonstrated statistically significant differences between groups (all P < 0.001). The association of S. repens, U. dioica (ProstaMEV), quercitin and curcumin (FlogMEV) extracts is able to improve the clinical efficacy of prulifloxacin in patients affected by CBP.

There's a guy on the chronicprostatitis forum who did a similar thing and combined antiotics with supplements and got cured.

"I've been taking Levaquin for 2 weeks with 10% relief in symptoms but still pain in groin area, low back and testes with burning on urination and ejaculation. Ofcourse workup was negative. Five days ago I decided to add everything I could think of that had helped me in the past. This included The Brocoli protocol, High dose antioxidants, vit. c, zinc, selinium, garlic and papain/bromelain. I also added juice plus which is a ground up fruit and veggie mix in a pill form ( in regimen for it's high Quercitin content while I'm waiting on Prosta-Q order) and acidophillus. Also the NSAID Ansaid when needed for pain. Also continued the Levaquin."

by ddarcher Sun Mar 30, 2003 2:37 "am 97% improved....."

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the forum where this was posted but there's a couple quotes anyway.

Folks I just thought I would give you an update on things.
My prostate seems to have gone down a lot and I seem to be able to drain a lot of fluid out wich I never did before.
My pelvis feels a lot less inflamed.
The only thing I still need to do a massage every 24 hours otherwise I still get a lot of pressure feeling.
I am not sure what is working.I am taking trimethoprim,quercetin,bromelian,10 allicin capsules a day, vitamin d3.
I am also doing some stretching.

That's really good! I hope you continue to feel better !

I took over 2 months of antibiotics... but since it started I've taken antibiotics so many times for a month at a time, up to 3 months in 2007. The fact is antibiotics have given me an almost normal life because they made the pain and symptoms go from an 8 to like a 2. Luckily I always did respond to antibiotics... but I've always combined antibiotics with supplements to enhance their effects (except for the first time I took trim). At one poitn I was on low dose 100mg per day for 6 months... I've never had an issues with my bowels or digestion while taking antibiotics either. Actually it doesn't seem like I'm even taking them as I have zero side effects from them. I think the reason my doc gave me the abx because a) I always go to him for the last 6 years and b) He knows that I know what I'm talking about, he knows I'm pretty smart... so I work with him deal with any issues I have. Rather than just listening to him, I tell him. I also back up what I say by showing him studies / abstracts... GP's don't know everything...

congrats ..... some times prostate massages can really help....unfortunately for me they just irritated mine ..but if they are working for you keep them up.... by the way if you can aford to keep taking 10 allicin a day stay with it. i read on one forum where one guy was taking like 5 allicin a day then he dropped to 3 a day and his symptoms started coming back..I dunno but maybe its possible if the prostatitis is seeing so much dosage of allicin everyday and then you drop that dosage the prostatitis being used to the first dosage maybe it rebounds when smaller amounts of the drug are coming in... just my theory....

there used to be an article i think it may have been deleted now cause i cant find it anymore. but there used be an article where mice where injected with bacteria in their prostate. and they were given a placebo ,
allicin, cipro, or allicin with cipro

placebo no improvement , allicin some improvement , cipro some improvement , cipro and allicin rapid improvement ........that study seems to suggest if you add an antibiotic in with allicin it might really help better than just an antibiotic alone or just the allicin alone

Thanks for your replies folks.
I am going to try and see if I can get a higher dose of 400mg of trim a day form my doc next week to see what happens.
It just annoys me all the time about these so called specialists they just dont have a clue half of the time.
I also have noise induced tinnitus from exposure to loud music and the same thing happens with that he just told me to go home and read a book and gat some sleep.
It was only when I found a forum with people who cared got me on the right track.

I hope you're able to get your dose to 400mg a day... You might want to try and add Broccoli Broth too. It doesn't taste bad actually lol. Strangely, it did seem to have a positive effect on my symptoms. You should notice your veins dilate shortly after drinking it too

been taking the crappy cheap allicin pills not the allimax but the cheap ones that have like only 3 mg of allicin in it ...this is interesting and some what surprising
was taking the 3mg and nothing.............when i went up to 2 pills 6 MG ...a few days after i started to notice something and this is crazy and right now im friggin shocked..........

i started to have a little feeling in ejaculation. not much but a very tiny orgasm. which is shocking seeing as i had zero feeling on ejaculation......... still have all my other symptoms but the tiny bit of allicin 6 mg has gave me a very tiny orgasm feel.

so i may end up buy me some of the allimax ....

You really need to get the AllicinMax. You get 180mg of allicin per capsule and it's 100% stabilized allicin, so your body gets 100% of it. The one you're taking right now might not even give you any allicin at all! you might as well just crush a garlic clove and wait 15 minutes and eat on a piece of bread or something... each allicinmax is equivalent of about 30 BULBS of garlic.

It could be cheaper for you to buy AllicinMax and get it shipped over to the US if that's where you live. Otherwise those in the UK can just go to boots and by 3 packs of 30 capsules for 15 (which is less than $30).

Here's another supplement you can add to your regimen!!! L-arginine
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1346784/

"The differences in log reductions reported above correspond to approximately 10 to 100 times fewer viable cells in the biofilms treated with antibiotic plus arginine than in the biofilms treated with antibiotic alone
These data indicate that arginine or nitrate can increase the susceptibility of P. aeruginosa to two classes of antimicrobials in mature biofilms. P. aeruginosa colony biofilms (11, 12) and drip flow biofilms (15) have both been shown to harbor regions of very low oxygen concentration. We hypothesize that it is in these anoxic regions where bacteria are poorly killed due to very low metabolic rates. We further speculate that arginine or nitrate positively modulate the antibiotic susceptibility of biofilms by increasing the metabolic activity of bacteria in the anaerobic zones of mature biofilms."

You can also check out this study
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...00076-0068.pdf

"In conclusion, the present studies show that diets supplemented
with arginine affect mortality when given before
different types of infection. The increased survival
observed in the animals fed with arginine appears to be
mediated by improved macrophage bactericidal killing
mechanisms mediated by the arginine-NO pathway."

L-arginine is a cheap supplement too.

hope you're all doing great!
