Thumbs down McDonald's McRib Sandwich

I rarely, if ever anymore, stop at McDonalds for anything to eat or drink. I recently saw the ad on TV for their 'limited time only' McRib sandwich. Read this article if you're thinking of eating one. I've never tried one, and I don't think I will.

And they wonder why Americans are so unhealthy, if the azodicarbonamide doesn't get you, the Frankenfish will.

Well, had some very young relatives come in from out of state a couple of years ago, and they insisted that they wanted to eat at McDonalds. I wasn't going to deny them their wish, LOL, or dampen their spirits with a health lecture. I think I had the filet-o-fish sandwich with fries.

I do like their coffee though, and I use to enjoy the mcnuggets until I read what chemicals they add to them.

People who eat at McDonalds are not into health. Then again most people into health are just into consuming information that tells them their current diet and lifestyle habits are healthy, just confirming their selection bias. However, McDonald's customers usually don't even fall into that category, they simply don't care.

It is a total waste of time to read, if you are into health you won't go there.

A story I read about McRibs reminded me of the pink slime that was added to hamburgers.

Seconded. Nearly 100% of all ordinary restaurant food is extremely toxic/unhealthy and should be avoided, but fast food is in another category all together. It should be illegal to call it "food" at all.

It hasn't been the same since they changed their method of frying.
McDonald's cooked its french fries in a mixture of about seven percent cottonseed oil and 93 percent beef tallow.

They are too expensive for what little they offer anyway.

Burger King, Wendy's, and Whataburger are so much better. In-N-Out Burger is going to open in Round-Rock next to Austin. It will be a 40 minute drive, but well worth it.

All fast food places, IMO, are bad to varying degrees, including Burger King and Wendy's...little Wendy all grown up, isn't the picture of health in her most recent ads for the business her father left her when he passed.

Default My favorite McDonalds story

Quote:
As show time approached this crowd started moving towards the broadcast stage. In the front of the pack was Bob Greene, playing the role of the Pied Piper. And then my brain went almost numb flanking him was none other than Ronald McDonald dressed to the hilt.
I had no idea what was going on. The producer introduced me to Bob Greene and we sat down next to each other on stage. We had a few minutes so I attempted some shop talk. I mentioned how interesting all the new science on uncoupling proteins was, and that it was a huge breakthrough for exercise and weight loss (which I thought was his expertise). His eyes glossed over and he ignored my comment entirely, making an unrelated comment about the day. I thought to myself, A fitness expert that doesnt keep up with his own subject. (Note: Uncoupling proteins are activated in muscle with a combination of sustained aerobics, healthy leptin function, and nutrients like Q10 resulting in disposal of calories as heat without any adverse cardio effects.)
The program began and Bob launched into his promotion of McDonalds and how he was going to reach so many people with a health message and partnership. He was going to turn McDonalds addicts into salad eaters. As the audience began asking questions it was apparent that his knowledge of weight loss was extremely limited based on exercising more and eating less fat and mostly exercising more. His message fell on deaf ears for the WCCO crowd who in many cases were lucky to be exercising at all.
All the while this was going on Ronald McDonald kept jumping around in the background either suffering from hyper-stimulation from the chemical flavorings in the McDonalds food he must have eaten that morning or in dire need of some ADD medication. The whole scene was beyond comprehension.
