Default kefir grains

I have been given some kefir grains, that seem to be very active. Therefore, I have kefir grains that i can share.... Probably enough for about three people right now, and at least two in about three weeks.... Anyone need any... i will gladly give them to you if you would like....

Do you still have Kefir grains? I realize this thread is pretty old, but I am looking for some to make my own kefir.

Thanks jfh, never thought of looking on ebay. Found some good ones on there, do you know if it matters if they get frozen during transport? I just recieved a package today, ionic silver, and it was frozen solid.

I don't know about temps and the bacteria. I know that ultimately your kefir milk or water will be stored in the refrigerator. This should be a good time to buy such things. In central TX, I have to worry more about heat.

My problem with kefir is that it is like sourdough bread. You have to keep it going day after day.

If you have never made it before, don't worry about the amount of sugar required. Remember that bacteria thrive on sugar. The final product will have minimal sugar, if any.

Kefir is the very best way to get a wide variety of species of beneficial bacteria. You can even put drops in your nose to repopulate the bacteria there. Those bacteria will eventually replace bad bacteria and fungi in your nose.

I asked the seller on ebay about them being frozen while shipped, and he said it probably would kill them I may have to wait until spring before I order any.

Any tips on making it once I do find grains, and what is the diference between kefir milk and water?

Milk kefir is easier, but more expensive. https://www.seedsofhealth.co.uk/ferme...ir_howto.shtml

Water kefir is similar, but requires a large amount of sugar.

The best way to discover quick ways to make kefir is to search on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/results?searc...ir+making&aq=2

So, I'll bet that yogurt ice cream is hype and worthless. I thought so.
