\nDosages for Hashimotos is not the same as for regular people with just hypothyroidism or other iodine deficiency issues. Care must be taken and this is why he has written a book about it. To load with high dosages of iodine for a hashimotos patient could be potentially catastrophic.

\nI dont know exactly what he means by synthetic iodine. Lugols is what he uses and I think largely due to the potassium in it. He clearly explains the receptor sites in the thyroid and what the best form of iodine is for this application. Some iodine products out there are trash, and people certainly must not use the iodine found commonly in a drug store typically used for wound care.\r\n

He is licensed in the State of Utah. NDs with this cerification are also trained to administer pharmaceutical drugs along with natural products, as all NDs from such schools do, but yet still bound by state regulations. He has full prescription authority in Utah.. just to clarify his depth of training... He is a fully trained physician.

\nHaskell says that in Hashimotos that iodine is used for treatment but first things must be done to reduce the inflammation in the thryoid before the iodine is introduced. \n 1000mcg is equal to 1 gram. 1 drop of the liquid that I have has 150 mcg. The Iodoral is 12.5 mg. My chiro said to use 8 drops and forget about it. I do the liquid form when I run out of the Iodoral.
