Default Bell's Palsy

Do any of you know anything about Bell's Palsy?
A dear friend of mine, Marilyn, has just been diasgnosed
with it. I know absolutely Nothing about this malady.
Her Dr. says she's also recently had at least 2 or several
strokes, which she was unaware of.

Are there any natural remadies? Right now she's on
Prednesone, a statin, I think. She, like myself, hates
Pharma meds. Anything you could suggest to strengthen
her body/system?

Prednisone is standard treatment for this. Standard, from the docs, that is. I treat it with acupuncture. It clears up faster than with Prednisone, or letting nature take it's course. Is there anyone around where she is who could treat her?
There are no miracle sures - it will still take time, but less time than otherwise.

Acupuncturist they can recommend.

Default Hello

Sorry to hear that, but here is some information.

Bell's palsy is a disorder of the nerves that controls certain muscles of the face. People with Bell's palsy lose control of some or all of the muscles on one half of the face; consequently, the face looks asymmetrical. Rarely are both sides of the face affected. The cause is unknown, and the disorder usually resolves without treatment within six to twelve months. People with diabetes or hypertension have greater-than-average risk for Bells palsy.

The following nutritional components may be beneficial. Strong botanicals have been added to promote circulation to the head and facial area. Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is a powerful antioxidant often used for a variety of conditions. Vitamin C plays an important role in the formation of connective tissue and is involved in maintaining proper immune function. Nerve tissue function is partly dependent on the presence of the various B vitamins in Vitamin B Complex 50 such as Thiamin, Niacin and Pyridoxine. Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause nerve degeneration. The botanicals Garlic Extract, Ginkgo Extract and Ginger Extract are thought to help with blood circulation to the peripheral regions.

Please note that this is not to be taken as medical advice. If you are seeking treatment, please contact your healthcare professional.
