Default Toothpaste: The unknown toxin

Traditional toothpaste is derived from fluoride, detergents, coloring, and abrasives. The combination of these ingredients has been linked to an increase in canker sores, ulcers, cancer and heart disease. Know what you are ingesting and stop letting companies use cheap toxic chemicals in the name of making a dollar. Our lives are on the line...GO NATURAL!

Natural Toothpaste... Well, it's had to have been done.. Got any recipes?

I only got as far as natural mouthwash. Vodka and Cinnamon, simple, effective, and smells OK.

What would you use in place of manufactured toothpaste? Something like baking soda and water?

Also, I would like to point out I don't eat my toothpaste, so I wouldn't be ingesting anything...

I'm currently using Spry toothpaste, which does not have fluoride, and has more natural ingredients like xylitol, aloe, etc. I sometimes use a mixture suggested by JFH which I like, coconut oil and aluminum-free baking soda.

I've done both flouride-free toothpastes and also made my own over the years. Big thing I've found helpful is whatever I use to make sure it has Xylitol in it. My teeth seem to be happier when that is around. Sometimes I'll even just suck on half a teaspoon of xylitol crystals until they dissolve as a sort of mouth rinse.
