Friend of mine's mom broker her hip yesterday and had surgery this morning. Came out great (Thank God). I told my friend to bring her some fresh fruit for breakfast tomorrow and he became rather upset so I just shut up after that. I cannot figure out people

Thank goodness the lady's operation was successful

He was likely still very upset, and not ready for advice, regardless of how reasonable it was. Stress can make many of us very short, like Ozzie said you you are very kind and caring, and you shouldn't take these reactions to heart. Glad his mother is doing okay.

I think it is more than that. My friend puts doctors up on a pedestal and feels they are the experts and know everything.

Well, that's not a very realistic attitude. Some doctors are indeed very knowledgeable, but are rarely experts and often don't have time to view things from different perspectives. They don't know everything, in fact very little about the prescription medications they are encouraged to prescribe.

He will never question what they say. I always question everything when it comes to prescriptions

I cannot sympathize with any one who tries to help some person out of their health problem because at this place where I is for the past 10 months all I have ever been able to get for an answer from a portion of about 140 residents is negative responses. The opinion of doctors seems to be in control even when it comes to the big money maker, cancer.

Many folks just follow blindly, they are brainwashed in a way. They may be fearful of going off in another direction with anything, when it comes to taking doctor's orders and recommendations.

Yup. The people have been taught that doctors are all knowing, all caring and yes they can do some good things, like fixing broken bones. But then there is the dark side that never gets much attention, except around here.

I wonder how saved�s friend would handle the following statistics?

My family is this same way!! It's very irritating! However I am pushing my mother into natural healthy products as she is headed in for her 4th back surgery!! Sometimes I swear they never learn

I saw it with my father. The food they feed you hospitals is junk, just a couple pieces of melon and a piece of kiwi will give you much needed vit C, potassium and enzymes

I don't get it. . . Doctors don't like fruit? What does bringing fruit to momma have to do with respecting doctors?

He is sure the food in the hospitals is perfectly healthful, otherwise the docs would know better. Docs are not known for their nutrition knowledge
