Yesterday, I had a strange pain in my leg, which made me rush to the nearest chair and sit, as I held my leg.

It wasn't a muscle cramp or bone pain. It went from the inside of my right knee, where the leg bends, and it shot downward, halfway to the ankle.

The only way I can describe it is, it felt like someone had injected very hot water into my vein, and the heat from it dripped downward.

It never reached my ankle, and subsided very quickly, thank goodness. Anyone ever experience something like this, or know what it could be? First time it ever happened to me.

I wasn't doing anything that would cause it, and I don't have circulation issues and am not obese. Afterward, there was no sign of redness or anything visible.

Sharp quick pain sounds like a nerve issue, could be a pinched nerve in your back or could be something you have once and never again.

Are you still okay?
If you experience any signs of weakness on one side of your body (or numbness) or ANY stroke symptoms.. don't wait, call 911.

Thanks Saved and Cookie for your concerns. It hasn't happened since then, and never before, so it may be like Saved said...happened once and never again.

My husband thinks it was a sudden muscle strain that had the symptoms of a hot shooting pain. I don't know, wasn't doing anything to strain a muscle at the time. Also, when I did have a muscle cramp or strain in the past, it never felt like that hot shooting liquid feeling.

Maybe it was nerve-related, if there's any more episodes, I'll let you guys know...thanks.

Yikes, that sounds painful. Do you take a mineral complex like pinballdoctor talks about? Weird things happen in the body when mineral deficiencies are there.

Age. I hate getting old. Strange things happen just to let you know it time to settle down. It's amazing how many of these one time things that I get. When they happen, I feel that I'm going to be debilitated for a while, I go find some supplement or other help, then it goes away, and I've wasted my worry, time and money. Although, I do get sciatica more often than I feel I should. I think that when something happens to one's back, it just never goes away. Lays in wait, just for the most inconvenient time.

But Cookie is right. You can't ignore such things. As much as you exercise and seem to take care of your body, it's hard to believe that there is any concern for stroke though.
