Insomnia is the inability to fall asleep or waking in the middle of the night and staying awake, if this problem continues for more then a month is called chronic insomnia. Here are some home remedies for insomnia:

Some people swear by eating a potato (with the skin) just prior to bedtime. The potato is supposed to be taken apart from any protein but can be combined with fat (like butter, oil, etc.).

This technique is also used to help combat depression.
