Default Fukushima Radiation via Tuna To USA

No big surprise, but generally big fish are able to metabolize & shed radioactive substances (as mentioned in the article) and it's not happening as previously thought.

Yes, and lots of stuff of all kinds crowding the Alaska coastline too.

This situation shows how we are screwing up the environment. Even though you do get more radiation from eating a banana then a slice of tuna.

Notice they don't tell you the levels of radiation found in the tuna. EPA increased radioactive safety levels on March 24th. Under the newly released allowable limits just drinking one glass considered "safe" by the EPA could subject us to the lifetime limit of radiation.

Strontium 1,000 fold increase
Iodine 131 3,000-100,000 hike
Radioactive nickel 25,000 increase

I assume as time goes on we'll hear stories of the increased radiation discovered but it'll be long past the time people could take precautions. This article is telling us what they found last August.

I've been scanning the epa website over the past couple of days & was surprised by the amount of household radon they have listed that we're exposed to annually, 200 millirems.
I'm guessing that could be higher if your house was built on higher concentrations of phosphate rock, shales or uranium ores.

Thanks mommysunshine..

Is there a complete chart anywhere that shows the across the board increases done by the EPA since last year?

They are up the food chain, so they concentrate nasties. We really need to start protecting the environment big time.

Sure, they swalla lots of nasties but, i get the feeling more is going on. I wonder if it has anything to do with water temps rising.

For instance, fish can't maintain a constant body temp like we do so if their range of temperature changes, so does their metabolism. Cold, slows it down.. warm speeds it up. So they're digesting food and growing more rapidly. This could be why they're holding these toxins instead of being able to shed them.

Another idea, if ocean water temps are rising (even just a tiny bit) it could damage the molecules that help them repair cellular damage. I think they're called heat shock proteins or something like that. And that added stress on their immune systems could interfer with the larger fish not being able to metabolise & shed as they normally do. They should be able to accomplish that after crossing a huge, deep ocean.

I dunno, just throwing thoughts around

Regarding radiation.... although some items may not carry much radiaion and you can get more from eating a banana that from other things..

what people are missing is that very hot molecules have been dispersed in the atmosphere and they are entering plants....

so far we have found deformed dandiions, a deformed cabbage with seed pods in the center (or at least they looked like seed pods) deformed liliac leaves and flowers of very unusual color on a plant with normal color flowers.

When very hot molecules of uranium or plutonium or cesium enters a plant it is deforming it!! this will show in fast growing things first...where cellular reproduction is rapid... like children and some plants!

so the over all radiaion dose does not necessarily reflect how serious it is.

visit Mutation watch on facebook.

check out the dandilion photo and the others..

our dandiions here are either 5 to 6 inches taller than normal or short and stubbly flowers close to the ground... neither of which are normal.

I have also seen grass in our pasture fully developed and seeding! and its only May!!!! while the rest of the same species appears on a normal track.

Look around guys... see what is out there
