You know I really like Dr. Merclo and agree with much of what he has to say. There are some items but wish more doctors were like him.

This is the doctor, Joseph Mercola, that grandmaflorist was speaking of. Many times there's good information in his articles...https://www.mercola.com/

Speaking of good doctors vs bad doctors, we've got this small hospital near us that seems to have some good doctors and nurses. My mother-in-law has been there several times and except for the nephrologist who turned out to only care about putting her on dialysis they seem to be good. 'Seem to' anyway. As soon as they find out the family is into alternative medicine they talk away about how great natural cures are and not to take so many pills. Of course that's what the nephrologist said as well at first. Recently one doctor there told my husband that Americans just accept whatever they're told by the doctor and do it blindly.

Both the doctor and nurse told my M-I-L NOT to get a flu vaccine.

My husband worked for a while at a large hospital and found the same thing with some of the doctors. They would talk freely to him about natural things. They also said how bad the flu vaccine was and one doctor got my husband an excuse not to have the shot. Another doctor also told him that the people who got their vaccines in the 60's are showing up with problems now, which was an intriguing comment.

Im just thinking about what the nature of the medical schools are in your area, For example, Creighton Medical School in Nebraska has a long history for teaching alternative medicine to their medical students. If I were to be an MD thats where I would go... so I thought you might be near some liberal educational systems and if so Id like to know what they are.

Hmm, I found this article:

www.usnews.com/education/best-graduation-schools/articles/2011/04/12/medical-schools-embrace-alternative-medicine

It talks about schools in CA, AZ, MD that embrace alt med.

I don't know if Atlanta has medical schools that teach alternative medicine but the large hospital that he worked at is a teaching hospital and has doctors from all over coming in and out all the time. The doctor that wrote him the excuse for the flu vaccine left right after that. All the doctors (and of course nurses who are always saying things like that!) were American, but:

The doctor at the small hospital his mother was in who said Americans don't ask their doctors anything, they just do whatever they say blindly, was British, about 50 years old. My husband was not born in the U.S. so he always finds himself in conversations with other foreigners about the ignorance of Americans! When they hear his accent and find out he is into natural things they talk about how frustrated they are with Americans and how you can't tell them anything, they're brainwashed and have a superior attitude and are unwilling to learn or make efforts with their health beyond pop-a-pill.

The article above says that 40% of Americans are into Alternative Medicine--that's good but it leaves 60% with whom to be frustrated with!
