Hi guys..

I just got a brand new BMW today.. its awesome.. but its got that "new car smell" and i noticed just driving it a short time it makes me feel a bit light headed.. is it the chemicals off gassing causing this? i think so..

Any idea how to minimize this? I guess it will just take time, i just hate to think im breathing that stuff in all day.. crap.. guess i need to do a lot of driving with the windows down?

Yes it's undoubtedly all the plastic and vinyl out gassing. The good news is it will eventually go away. The bad news is when it does the plastic and vinyl will begin drying out and start to crack.

Yea.. I just hope it goes away soon.. hard to enjoy the new car when it makes me feel weird..

Right before they gave it to me they 'detailed' it and probably used a bunch of chemicals in the interior etc..

Anyone experienced this before? any idea how to get rid of it and avoid toxicity? I literallyy felt odd almost right away.. good thing its a convertible!! ill be rollin with the top down all day from now on..

Can i get like an in car air purifier? a lot of other people complain of this with new cars.. god.. is are whole world toxic? shame.

I remember reading that it is not just new cars that give off chemicals. The article said that everyone should put the windows down when they first get in the car, and keep them down for a few minutes when they start. That does not help, when it is raining. You can find an air purifier easily online.
