Default Favorite fun workout?

I recently got the Wii fit and Just Dance 2, which has to be the funnest game ever. I'm looking forward to getting the Michael Jackson one soon! If anyone has played these games, how much weight have you lost in what period of time? What are your other fun fave workouts?

I haven't had any experience with the Wii fit games. Guess the most fun workout I've had are Jazzercise, Step-Aerobics and Kick-box classes. Always seem more fun with the music playing and in a group setting. I have Turbo Jam and old Reebok step tapes which are good, but I need motivation to pop one in and work out alone.

I am perfectly happy with either the tread mill or stair machine. My knee is getting better and I am doing 50 minutes on each (not on the same day). I cannot wait to get back to 75 minutes.

I'm glad to hear that your knee is getting better. Do you still think that you have arthritis?

I haven't used the stair machines yet, just treadmill. They have a couple of machines that just look like a moving staircase, never saw that before.

This year around Spring I bought a low-mid priced 2010 Trek 6000 and have found that riding my mountain bike on pavement or offroad is very fun:

But only getting your cardio or movement from biking is not good, as it promotes limited joint mobility, thus you need to mix things up with running.

Had a relapse, a bad one. Lifted my pants to show a physical therapist my knee and she said there was some slight swelling in an area that is indicative of arthritis. Did 30 minutes in the stair machine this morning and a shoulder/tricep workout. The PT said avoid the treadmill. I am on day 3 of aleve and will stop it after this evening's dose. Tomorrow I will start up again with the joint vibrance drink.

Sorry to hear it saved. Hope you can get it back to normal in a short time with some TLC and nutrients. One thing about that Aleve, it does work well. I take it rarely, and only one per day, but it helps with back pain, etc.

The closest to the games I have played would be Dance Dance Revolution and it was really good for me. I'm not sure how much weight I lost but it definitely helped me out. Some songs are a bit too fast paced for me (I kept missing the steps lol) so there are a few that I just stick with.

Hi jessejam, welcome to the forum! I saw the ads on TV for that, and it does look like fun! I like to dance too, even if just around the house while listening to the stereo and doing housework, lol. It's a fantastic way to burn some calories and stay limber.

Thank you and you are right. It does help you to stay limber while having fun. It's like you can barely call it a 'work' out

I wiil beat this, I just got back from a cycle class, and there is NO way I would ride a bike if I was a guy, until my prostatitis was completely gone, that seat's gotta be bad news for those who suffer. Cool that you're skating, lifting weights and working out on the bag. I admire you for keeping a positive attitude and staying in shape, keep it up, you deserve it!

Take the credit! Life is like a roller-coaster ride, sometimes more downs than ups...we all let it get to us at times, but try to make the best of it.
