Question BANABA LEAF for Diabetes

Does anyone here with Diabetes take banaba leaf or banaba leaf extract?
I just read where it's supposed to act like insulin in lowering blood sugar.

Yes, I have read that too. Recent research finding points out that banana leaf extract can reduce high blood sugar levels. They say it contains corosolic acid which acts like insulin. Since, it is a plant, I guess at least it won't have side effects even if it does not help in controlling diabetes. But, I haven't tried it though. I just dread to think of the taste! lol!

The Banaba Bush, known in the United States as Crape Myrtle (or Crepe Myrtle), has become widespread in temperate regions of the country and is prized as an ornamental. Banaba extract, obtained from the leaves of the plant, is high in plant insulin, known as corosolic acid. Herbalists claim that the extract produces anti-diabetic effects when consumed by humans in the form of dietary supplements, juices or teas.

I had no idea that the leaves were edible. I have four in my yard. I have to surround them with fence wire to keep the deer from eating the leaves, until they get taller.
