how do diabetic people do atkins?

my 63 year old grandmother has type 2 diabetes, cholestrol and high blood pressure. She also has calcification of arteries.
her BMI is 34.2.
Is atkins suitable for her? If yes , from where can she find out how to do atkins for diabetics?
