Default Can this toothpaste prevent heart attacks?

From Dr. Robert Rowens Second Opinion e-newsletter, 7/22/11:
Can this toothpaste prevent heart attacks?
You may have heard that bacteria from gum disease can contribute to heart attacks. Any time there's arterial disease, I suspect bacteria. But up until now, all researchers had to connect oral bacteria to heart attack was the DNA of bacteria in arterial lesions. But, it's also important to actually find living organisms.

As a result, researchers continue to look for the link between bad oral health and your blood vessels. Dr. Emil Kozarov and his team at Columbia University have been working on this for some time.
After I tell you what they've found, I'll show you a simple way to stop the bacteria. According to this research team, inflammation in your mouth causes your white blood cells to move in. White blood cells ingest bacteria. But if they don't succeed in killing the germ, they can inadvertently transport it to your arteries.

While Dr. Kozarov's work doesn't fully explain how the bacteria wind up in your arteries, other research is strongly suggestive. As I've repeatedly reported, your vascular cells pick up oxidized cholesterol and lipids. There, the damaged fats are treated as if they are pathogenic bacteria. Your immune cells move in. They can carry the grunge of previous battles, including possibly both dead and live bacteria.

Now that we know how the bacteria in periodontal disease get to your heart, you can take action to stop it from happening. The key is killing the bacteria while it's still in your mouth. That way it can't get to your heart. And there's an easy way to do just that.

In the July issue of my newsletter, I introduced my readers to a brand new type of toothpaste. It's Seanol Toothpaste. As the name states, it contains the powerful nutrient Seanol in it. This toothpaste is such a strong antibacterial bioflavonoid, it even kills the bacteria on your toothbrush a major breeding ground for bugs. I am happy that Advanced Bionutritionals added Seanol Toothpaste to its line of products. It can significantly improve your oral health. And it can help save your life.

Here are the listed ingredients: D-sorbitol solution, purified water, hydrated silicon dioxide, concentrated glycerin, sodium lauryl sulfate, Ecklonia cava extract (SEANOL-M), propolis extract, tocopherol acetate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, PEG-75, titanium dioxide, xylitol, erythritol, citric acid, menthol, spearmint oil.

More information and order here:
https://www.advancedbionutritionals.c...-ABRRLNK77.htm

Ive used NutriBiotics MouthFresh mouthwash and their dental gel for quite some time. They use grapefruit seed extract to make them citricidal.

I wonder if they are accomplishing the same thing the seanol would? Any comments? NutriBiotic website has mouthwash (16 oz) for $7.99, dental gel for $7.99 and plus whitening dental gel for $8.99. Vitacost has gel only for $4.59. NutriTeam (where Ive bought mine) is mouthwash (12 oz) for $4.95, gel for $4.75, and whitening gel for $5.25.

Here is a detailed article I wrote on other options for killing mouth bacteria. By far the strongest thing you can use is MMS for a mouthwash. Especially if you have severe gum disease it will knock the bacterail load down FAST. Then you can go onto a maintenance program with something else.. and just use MMS once in a while. I would not assume that if your mouth is clean that you will no longer be susceptible to heart disease. Bacteria in the mouth is only one factor. Some people have foci of infection in other areas of the body also.

With Dental and Oral disease these are the big three issues that come into play!

First is a microbe problem in your mouth,
Second is a nutritional problem.
Third may be a fluoride issue...And I do think you can overcome it!

But it will take some work on your part.

You must start eating lots more fresh veggies, like every day, veggie salads! You need to address all three and here is the plan. Aside from brushing and flossing daily, which is probably the only correct thing your dentist has taught you, this is what I would do.

1. Stop drinking anything with fluoride in it. Purchase bottled or purified water if you must. Too much fluoride makes your teeth weak, crumble and become susceptible to cavities.

2. Get Xylitolwhite or Spry tooth paste. Don't ever use the other stuff again. These toothpastes will help to eliminate bacteria.
iHerb.com - Product Details - Now Foods, XyliWhite Toothpaste Gel, Refreshmint, 6.4 oz (181 g)
I just happen to have a coupon code for Xyliwhite and you will get it free if you make a first order. Put BAR967 in the coupon code. Or if you don't want the toothpaste the code can be used for $5 off any other product. Anyone reading this can use it but I don't know for how long it will be good for. If you don't like Xyliwhite then try Spry next time.

3. For a while you will have to get into the offensive attack mode. Get some Nutribiotic Grapefruit Seed Extract and put one drop on your toothpaste and brush. If you can tolerate it increase to two drops when you can. If your gums can handle it rub it directly on the gums and put some on your dental floss. Now be careful because if your gums are really bad it will burn all day. Do not put it on open leasions in your mouth. You want to work up to it.
iHerb.com - Product Details - NutriBiotic, The Original GSE Liquid Concentrate, 4 fl oz (118 ml)

4. Get some CoQ10 100mg and take one cap two times a day. This is the type I recommend because it is an an oil base which makes it assimilate better. This will nourish your gums from the inside out and you can also poke a hole in the cap and apply it directly to your gums.
iHerb.com - Product Details - Healthy Origins, CoQ10 Gels, 100 mg, 150 Softgel Capsules

5. Vegital Silica may be helpful to strenghten bones and teeth. I wonder how your bones are? Take 3 caps two times a day for about 3 months, then 2 caps as maintenance.
iHerb.com - Product Details - Flora, Vegetal Silica, 180 Capsules
NOW, the Flora bone builder below also has silica but you need to take extra for a while. For further information go here: https://www.healthsalon.org/480/horsetail-silica-for-osteoporosis/

6. Take trace minerals, liquid is good, from a Utah mine or this, or any that has at least 72 trace minerals.
iHerb.com - Product Details - Source Naturals, Colloida Life Trace Minerals, 4 fl oz (118.28 ml)

7. Take a low dose calcium/magnesium supplement. about 300mg on the calcium. One tablet of these daily will be Ok.
iHerb.com - Product Details - Flora, Bone Basics, 160 Capsules

8. Vitamin D, Purchase 5,000 IU caps and take 10,000 IU daily for 2 weeks, then 5,000 IU daily. Biotec is one of the best products but Vitalady label is exactly the same product at a lessor price. To to this site and put vitamin D3 in the site search tool: https://www.vitalady.com/

9. Eliminate all sugar from your diet, at least until you are healed up. Try Xylitol or stevia for your sweetening needs. iHerb.com - Product Details - Now Foods, Stevia Liquid Extract, 2 fl oz (60 ml)
iHerb.com - Product Details - Now Foods, Xylitol Plus, 75 Packets
If you look around you will find some cookbooks for this stuff, like on Amazon. I often use them together cause if you use tooo much stevia it has an aftertaste, but it is cheaper than xylitol, which tastes the best. Together I can get a nice compromise.

10. Make sure your toothbrush is clean. You do not need to purchase a new brush frequently if you leave your brush in hydrogen peroxide. Your brush will be very clean for each use. Some people use a little clorox. A quarter teaspoon in a glass of water is more than enough to sterilize your brush. Just give it a quick rinse before using.

11. Learn about MMS at www.jimhumble.biz You can activte some mms, about 5 drops and add 2 or 3 ounces of water and use it to brush your teeth with. This will really cut down on the bacterial load. You can do it for up to a week every few weeks but do not do it every day forever as it is reported to cause tooth sensitivity.

12. Get rid of the mercury filling that are toxic and harbor bacteria. Find a dentist that can treat with ozone. Learn more about it here:
www.healthsalon.org/478/biomimetic-dentistry-ozone-dentistry-avoiding-root-canal-dr-alleman-dds/

I hope you find this helpful. I have managed to eliminate all my gum issues and have helped quite a few others do the same and I haven't had a cavity in more years than I can remember!

If you choose to order from Iherb.com enter coupon code Bar 967 for $5 off on your first purchase.

WOW, Arrow, lots of fabulous info there! As to how my bones are, I'm 63 and they're great! Had bone density test just a few years ago. As I read more and more about MMS, it does sound miraculous in many ways, but I've never tried it myself.

Great that your bones are in good shape. Keep an eye on them. Things can change in the next 5 to 10 years. The longer your estrogens are decrease the higher the risk as estrogens are one of the hugests factors in bone density... but not the only factor. Best option is to eat right for your bones. Eathing right for your bones is also eating right for your teeth. If you keep your teeth clean on top of that you should have no dental problems, and hopefully no heart problems either

Oral care can affect the overall health of the heart and body to be sure. I like Spry toothpaste, but I'm currently using a coconut oil and baking soda mix instead. I often squirt a few drops of NutriBiotic liquid Grapefruit Seed Extract on the brush also.

Using a proxa brush in addition to flossing helps too. At night I'll dip it in hydrogen peroxide when I use it, to kill more germs. I rinse either with 3% peroxide or a tea tree oil mouthwash. Here's an article worth a read...https://www.healthyfellow.com/860/den...ters/#more-860

i have very active tartar growth on my teeth. i brush regularly. i use tartar control toothpaste, and have good oral hygeine but tartar always builds up. I never have cavities. I have tried all kinds of tartar control toothpastes -- colgate, crest, arm and hammer baking soda, etc etc. The dentist says tartar control toothpaste won't stop tartar growth and that only he can remove it. so should i seek dentist help?

Come on. Use your brains and start thinking logically.
How did humans survive the evolutionary process BEFORE we invented toothpaste?
As before we ate junk food and before we had toothpaste humans survived it wasn't toothpaste that saved humanity.
The reason they survived without toothpaste/toothbrushes dental floss and the whole paraphernalia was because they ate REAL FOOD. Stop eating refine over processed crap.

Weston Price spend some time looking at the photos of the teeth of these primitive peoples who don't eat junk food. Eliminating sugar and refined carbohydrates will stop feeding those pathogenic bacteria. Check out the nutrients for dental health at Dental Essentials and read the Mellanby research while your there.
Arrowwind09 has covered most of the basic points so I won't repeat those.

but the state of your gums/teeth mouth does affect the whole body and the sooner you clean up your diet the better.

The indigenous Hawaiians attributed their beautiful white teeth to eating a lot of coconuts (antibacterial), and coconut milk, and pineapples (enzymes) from a very young age.

So they ate a lot of saturated fat(coconut) and natural sugars (pineapple) and suffered no ill effects and as far as their teeth were concerned had no problems without modern dental hygiene available.
Is it the PROCESSING of modern foods that is making them dangerous and should we go back to preparing REAL FOOD in our own kitchens?

I don't know Ted. Why to English people have such bad teeth? Just generalizing for sure. I suspect the tea / fluoride connection. I suspect the priority of care too. But do east Indian have the same problem? How about Chinese? Is it really modern foods? Remember the early TV commercials for toothpaste? Those were days when mothers would prepare foods for the family.

Did you know that, in earlier centuries, mercury was used to whiten teeth?
