Default Controling the Cycokine Storm in H1N1

There are lots of rumors out there that the worst is yet to come from the H1N1 flu and there are opinions that we are being downregulated with the current vaccine to weaken us to sufficient levels that when the mutated form hits around Christmas time it will take us out... a planned population control measure buy the new world order to help inpliment Agenda 21 (do a you tube search on that one)

Be that as it may, some of my current reading (thanks Nightowl) got me to thinking that I really don't know a hill of beans about down regulating a cycokine storm....except for my theory that Vitamin C will do it.

So I went a looking and I found this interesting article with a discussion that follow it on some forum, dated '05 with discussion of H5N1, the more virulent spanish flu virus.

Take a look. It confirms that megadosing on Vitamin D3 may be the answer as well as essential fatty acids found in fish oil, and perhaps glyconutrients as well.

Cool

Thank you, Arrow, for your link; very interesting information. This may be one
time that being a Diabetic works in MY favor. LOL! I'll continue with my 10,000iu
of D3 as well as my daily fresh garlic. Though the article says zero about garlic
being beneficial, I personally believe it has kept me free of colds/flus for many
years.

Dr Cannell seems to recommend 200,000 iu daily during flu sickess for 7 days. that is 50,000 higher than I was suggesting and for 4 days longer, but according to my reading I see no danger in this so I will now change my recommendations.

Cannell also recommends the flu vaccine

that is the vitamin D3 that I use and I would warn folks who use fish oil to get their their D, they will not be getting the job done. Better to get your levels tested to see if your supplement is working to your satisfaction. I prefer to keep 70 to 90 on my levels.

[QUOTE=Arrowwind09;27036][COLOR=purple]Dr Cannell seems to recommend 200,000 iu daily during flu sickess for 7 days.

if you get this flu, take 2,000 IU per kg of body weight per day for a week. As I weigh 220 pounds, I would take 200,000 IU per day for seven days if I thought I had an infection with a 1918-like influenza virus.
But his suggestion is based on weight and he weighs 220lbs. People who weigh less need less and people who are heavier need more.

I don't always agree with everything Dr Cannell says though I do think most of his vitamin D information is evidence based. But if you look at the incidence/mortality figures for infectious diseases it's impossible to say that Vaccines have altered the course of disease incidence/mortality trends whatsoever. Mostly it's down to cleaner water, cleaner homes and cleaner foods.

Fish oil is for omega 3 and it's the EPA+ DHA content that matters so go for the highest strength. But remember it's the omega 6 that depletes the omega 3 and displaces it from your tissues so cutting out sources of industrially made omega 6 grain oils and foods that contain them is probably required as well.

When I stated supplementing for Vit D3 my doc wanted me to use a supplement derived from fish oil as the source of vit d. I used carlsons and some other product, don't remember now. It barely budged my D3 levels at 2,000 iu a day. Then I switched to Biotec, mega dosed and was very pleased with the results. I keep 50,000 IU and 5,000 IU on hand

Read an article recently that most kids who get the whooping cough have been vaccinated for it..
The pertussis vaccine is pretty dangerous and I have seen what it can do first hand several times. Needless to say it is one my kids did not receive. I wish I had known more about vaccines at the time. but I had that one figured out at least.

Receiving the MMR caused both boys to have abberant cases of chicken pox shortly after. It threw one boy right into the hospital with seizures. It vaccines really screw up the immune response when disease does hit.

I guess I would try to quell the Cytokine storm with large doses of TNF inhibitors. Which happen to be what I take anyway.

I would increase my dose of Turmeric and Ginger to 3,000 a day. I would also not take my Low Dose Naltrexone until it was gone. Rife machine to kill it off quicker.

I really think my Uncle and Myself both had H1N1 last year. I was extremely sick. To the point that I actually went to the doctor to see if I had West Nile virus. I did not test positive for it, so I am assuming it was the Flu. My Liver was actually stressed from the virus. I took one dose of MMS when I started getting sick, but due to stomach problems I was not able to take it again. With viruses you have to keep taking it regular or it bounces back fast.

The Low Dose Naltrexone has an immune boosting effect which I think made the problem much worse than it would have been otherwise. Prior to LDN, I have never been that sick from the Flu. I think the LDN actually makes your immune system work too good, causing an overreaction. Contrarily, the fact my immune system was weak before likely explains why my reaction to Cold's and Flu's was always so minimal. Now I get sick like normal people do.

The funny part was I always thought my immune system was stronger than most, because I did not get as sick. The reason I did not get as sick is because my immune system reacted so little to the viruses.

My theory in progress.

Dan

Exactly Dan,

In hospice your rarely see people near death get a cold or flu. Their immune system has shut down. No cycokine reactions for them.

Also many people with cancer report that they never had a sick day in their life and as they struggle with cancer and whatever therapy they choose getting a cold for flu is quite rare.

I do not like finding out I am 100% wrong, but I am glad to know the truth.

Your examples make perfect sense to me.

I have a similar reaction. I know my immune system isn't the best and I get usually get colds and flu lightly but for a longer time than other people, like for 2-4 weeks or longer. I've always wondered how that works and wish I'd get quite sick for 1 day and be over it.

I think the ability to mount a fever is indicative of a healthy immune system. The more fever, the higher, the better.

I have hard time getting a fever a good part of my adult life but seems to have improved the last 5 years or so. Really, after I did all that rife and herbs and iodine as part of my cancer treatment, I get a fever much better now. And it really kicked butt last summer when I got that tick bite fever. I hadn't had a fever like that since I was a kid.

Am I understanding this right, that we want the immune system to "not" function as the pandemic threat rears it's ugly head? This might be the best time there ever was for chemo...as awful as that sounds.

Thank you Arrow and Dan, for helping me understand why I seldom get symptoms when all of the family around me get very bad viruses. I have autoimmune problems and yet never get a fever over 99 or 100 degrees. Being hypothyriod, even though it's under controle with medication, my temperature is normally around 97.5 degrees F now. When I was in my 20's it was normal at 98.6 but would go over 104 if I didn't watch it close when sick with a virus. I have been having a cough and irritated throat for about four days, but it hasn't gotten me down, even though I can feel that it has moved into my lungs. I have put a little Sovereign Silver in my BIPAP vaporizer, so maybe that has helped.

The two main arms of the immune system which provide the cytokines are called the TH1 and Th2 arms.

The idea is to keep these two arms in balance but because of our bad lifestyles the immune system tends to be unbalanced towards the TH2 side, meaning we dont generate enough of the NK cells of the TH1 arm. People with CFS, Aids and cancer have this inbalance problem.

This site gives the most clear explanation of how the immune system works and the natural means to remedy the inbalance.

https://www.diagnose-me.com/cond/C104791.html

Personally I think that high levels of TNFalpha are the main problem in H1N1.
It appears to me that a lot of sufferers can handle the extra cytokines in H1N1, usually some young and the unhealthy obese seem to suffer most.
Obesity itself will cause inflammation, which probably means the immune system is already having to deal with high TNF alpha before the virus strikes.

High TNFalpha levels as the main problem in this virus is borne out by doctors now using high dosages of ACE inhibitors, a blood pressure drug that works by reducing TNFalpha, to treat patients.

That must be it, because I don't get a fever when I get sick. The last time I got a fever recently was several years ago when I got a bad case of poison ivy. Who gets a fever when they have poison ivy? Weird. Maybe it has something to do with what liverock mentions about the imbalance toward the Th2 part of the immune system--I get a fever for an allergic reaction but not a virus. I do have CFS. Interestingly, I did feel good after the poison ivy fever.

Should you induce a fever? If so, how? Apply poison ivy leaves purposely? Hee Hee. My husband says that when he was a child they would wrap people in plastic both to induce a fever and to sweat the toxins out.

I wonder if part of the reason people get sick in the winter, besides the low humidity causing the germs to float through the air and lack of vitamin D, is the cold and people's bodies not getting hot enough. They say it's not a cause but I will get sick if I get a chill. Does exercise help? Saunas? Hot Flashes? (A couple years ago I was having hot flashes due to hormone problems and didn't get sick at all. Just coincidence?)

Same with me, sometimes I'll get a 'fever' of 99. In my 20's I was still getting fevers.

Have you tried Standard Process for your thyroid? I used glandulars for a while but they only worked a little, then when I tried SP they worked quickly and thoroughly. And they keep working after you stop taking them. It provides a blueprint for your glands/organs to repair themselves.
