I've heard that a little bit of honey rubbed on the gums is good for teething pain, as long as it's NOT raw. It also has a relaxing effect on the baby.

Honey isn't generally radiated or pasteurized and is mostly consumed raw. But even still, pasteurized honey can contain botulism spores so I dunno, I'd be leery about offering it to a 6 month old.

Some things I'd do when my kids were teething; rub/massage their gums, the pressure does help. I'd put several teething rings (solid, not liquid filled) in the frige (not freezer) and keep rotating them as they became warm. Kept refilling their bottles with icecubes & cold water. Gave them more baths since they both loved playing with toys in the water so it diverted attention away from the pain..

And at night, I did the unthinkable & gave them tylenol. It was my understanding that if we had to endure the pain a toddler does during teething, we'd be lining up shots just to knock us out

This will take care of it. Moms swear by this stuff. You can crush the tablet between two stainless steel spoons and put the powder in the mouth.

If you can find the hylanders get all you can....supposedly they are doing a recall, because the fda doesnt like one of the herbs in it, but from the article I had read, the baby would have to eat a ton of these tablets in order for this herb to hurt baby...What it boils down to is that the hylanders works so well that they are ruining business for the other pharma teething drugs...and we cant have that!

I used jack daniels on all my kids and my grandkids teeth....dip your finger into the jack bottle, and then rub baby's gums....works better then anything else i have ever tried.
