Default Getting Increased Bioavailability of Curcumin

Curcumin has a problem with getting absorbed in effective amounts in the tissues. Thats why its a good colon cancer preventative as a lot goes down into the bowel.

Curcumin has come to the attention of big pharma and they are researching ways to increase bioavailability prior to attempting to create a synthetic drug. Good luck with that say I.

For supplements the best way to get maximum bioavailability is to break open 4 capsules(I use 500mg caps with bioperine) into a dessertspoon of virgin olive oil. This gives a daily dose of 2 grams and then pour it into a small bottle and place the bottle into warm water and let it heat up before consuming.

Research has found that this way curcumin absorption is increased 12 fold over just consuming caps the normal way. Its almost as effective absorption as liposomol curcumin.

I've read that coconut oil is a good choice,,, and weren't you the one who posted a page on making Lipsomal curcumin? That looks like a potential winner to me.

This is for making a liposomal combination of Vitamin C, Curcumin and Resveratrol.

I would forget trying to add the resveratrol as it oxidises when exposed to air unless you can keep it in a vacuum until ready to add to the mix. Messy.
The science about taking higher dosages of Resveratrol over 200mg is also unclear. Some say it turns into a pro-oxidant above 200mg.

Curcumin is better absorbed with a component from black pepper. Add pepper to your turmeric.

Bioperine helps absorption but studies have shown that when taken with coconut oil absorption is superior, about as good as you can get.

And what good Indian cook doesn't combine turmeric, black pepper and coconut oil? Often heating the coconut oil, then adding the spices and sauteeing for 30 seconds before adding the vegetables and/or meat?
