arrowwind, if I had the answers I would still be here sharing it with everyone
but no...at this point in time Im still seeking answers, as I have done for years thru
homeopaths, naturopaths, wholistic docs, entegrative medicine practioners, traditonal doctors, endocrinologists and oh yes...snake oil salesmen

so I am a little skeptical when I read about a cure, and I now need some proof even if I have to get that by experimenting myself ( which I have done in the past to my detriment)
I am now my own doctor and am managing to keep my thyroid under control using herbs, tho this is a fine balancing act as it consistantly threatens to get away from me, but at this stage no one has anything better to offer
Im also treating my osteoporosis with several vitamin/minerals which already include 50mg horsetail, Im well aware it is helpful for bones but not convinced it is a cure and a bit concerned that you recommend such high doses especially after reading that therapeutic doses of horsetail can deplete thiamine levels
that being said Im still willing to try almost anything to get control of my health since Im told that my situation is critical but then that information comes from doctors and their dubious tests ( dexa scan) and we all know pharmaceutical companies foster a sickness industry & doctors are their puppets
if this all sounds like Im a cynic...it because that is what I have learnt on the medical merry go round

I think we doctors are still far preferable to self-medication by uneducated, though motivated lay persons.
A cynic is almost always his own worst enemy.

If your osteoporosis has a root cause of a hormonal issue all the nutrients you could possibly throw at it will not bring a cure.

Doctors ususally are preferable if you can find one with the intelligence not to be owned and operated by a pharmaceutical company.

Sorry, I have known too many people who have cured their own diseases like cancer, lupus, arthritis, hormonal diseases, gout, allergies, parasite infestation in spite of, not because of doctors.

doc dinesh , I am self medicating because there is no choice...I have seen far too many woefully ignorant doctors who cannot think outside the textbook
I am far from uneducated and often I find I know more than they do....

arrowwind the root cause of my osteoporosis is subclinical hyperthyroidism with multi nodular goitre the only solution doctors offer to this is thyroid ablation ..which is not a solution at all but it does get them a life long patient
I realise no amount of nutrients can cure osteoporosis.....thats why Im still looking
nice to know people have cured themselves inspite of doctors

Equilibrium you still would be wise to find a good doctor rather than deceiving yourself.
Remember, one of the truest statement ever made in medicine: The doctor who treats himself has a fool for a patient.
You may achieve successes now and then (many of which will be delusions) but you may also end as the smartest man in the cemetery.

No, I did read them.
I don't doubt that there are many fools but you are one of them and in your case it will not hurt them.

Thank you Xania for the reminder.

I agree. However, this site is not what one would expect to be conducive to the exchange of ideas.
I believe that is why it is not growing.

DO YOU HAVE INFORMATION ON WHETHER "HORSETAIL" WOULD BE A GOOD USE FOR OSTEO-ARTHRITIS?

I do not think that horsetail will cure osteo-arthritis but it will strengthen collagen, which you find in cartilege and it will also fortify the bone material.
