Default Other uses for MMS2

As soon as I heard about MMS2, I purchased a package of pool shock from my local WalM**t store.

I put 1/2 teaspoon of the calcium hypochlorite crystals in a 20-ounce spray bottle, fill it with water, and shake it up. I then spray this solution in my shower where black mildew has been growing in the sealant around the edges. Nothing else I ever tried got down "in" the sealant and removed the mold. I let it air dry after spraying it on. In just a couple applications it has done a remarkable job in removing the mildew.

I also use the spray as an after-shower over-all spray to prevent mildew on the curtain, faucet handle, etc. It has not let me down yet!

When washing white clothing, I throw in 1 teaspoon of calcium hypochlorite powder to whiten and freshen my clothes.

I had an ingrown toenail that got infected. I put dry calcium hypochlorite powder directly on the infection and bandaged it up at night. No pain, no surrounding tissue damage at all - and it healed the infection very rapidly.

I love this stuff!

Good to know. Im getting some for the water tank in our camper for our trip to Mexico. Last time I used chlorine and had filters under the sink to remove the chlorine. Shouldn't need that with this right? I figure 2.5 teaspoons per 20 gallons.

Default Calcium hypochlorite for drinking water

I have no idea what proportion you would put in a tank of water for drinking purposes. When you put this in water, it creates a very strong chlorine scent. It might be too strong to be able to stomach drinking the water, unless you have a filtration system to remove the taste. My feeling is that your proportions are too strong.

I'm not sure I could stand drinking it, myself.

For water purification, I would use MMS1 first. That is its declared purpose. There are other products known as stabilized oxygen which contain a sodium chloride compound that is sold as a water purifier. It calls for 20 drops per gallon of water and doesn't have nearly the strong taste.

MMS2, I use some in a foot bath, don't rinse, just dry off, leaves my feet odour free and feeling great. Jim Humble's FREE Ebook sergests 1 zero size capsule for 50 leters of water, to make it potable. I use a lot more in the foot bath, about half a tea spoon in 2 leters
