Default How can I prevent bloating

Every time I eat, I bloat. Could it be a digestion problem? What should I eat to stop it for good?

What are you eating? Mostly vegetables? Mostly grains? Some meat, fish?

One thing that causes bloat, is insufficient stomach acid. About 40 years of age, we stop producing stomach acid in the same quantities as when we were young. So, food mostly does not digest well. It ferments, causing bloating.

Drinking water or ice tea with meals can cause the stomach acid to dilute. Tea also inhibits the digestion of protein. Instead of this, try drinking a cup of water with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar before or with your meal.

Also, consider digestive bitters which have been used for centuries. I have posted much info on them here on this forum. Do a search here or via Google. You will see how important they could be for your problem.

Hi thereThank-you for replying.
I don't eat enough vegetables I think. All i really eat is grains, cheese, and red meat, and I honestly only eat twice a day, so I might've screwed up my stomach even though I'm only in my early twenties. I do have Swedish Bitters if that's good for digestion.

Swedish bitters are good for digestion. Just use half of what the bottle says to use, right before a meal. The back of the tongue needs to taste the bitter for the vagus nerve to be stimulated. This will help to balance hormones, help the digestive system to stimulate production of enzymes, and slowly clear/detox the liver.

I'm with you. I don't eat many green veggies either. I know I should. Grains are my number one meal choice. Meat is not a priority, but I don't avoid it. So, I know what you are going through. Fiber is important too. I love beans for fiber. Unfortunately they can cause bloating and flatulence in the beginning. The body learns to produce the right enzymes after a while.

Meat is good for vitamin b12 and other amino acids, but red meat is not a good choice. There are reports of it causing intestinal problems. It is best to stick with chicken, pork, fish.

It could be that you are eating your food too quickly and not chewing it thoroughly enough.

Are you drinking a lot with meals? That can hinder the digestive process.

Are you just eating too much? Some people do better on smaller, more frequent meals.
