Angry Full-Faced Redness

Hey there!

I'm looking for any information and remedies anyone can offer for someone who suffers from 24/7 'red-face'!

I'm 25 and in the past 3/4 years have noticed the decline of my facial skin which is now dry, tight and a fiery red/pink colour, including my cheeks, temples, forehead, nose, neck 24/7 etc. My skin is tight and dry and is hugely affected by showering and change in surrounding temperature (going from the cold into a warm room).
In daylight it generally looks ok, but under bright artificial light i glow like a beacon as if I have a full face of sunburn.
I'm not sure if this was caused by alcohol (i used to flush alot from alcohol consumption and have since stopped drinking), or if it's from my cleaning routine (i used to scrub my face with a face cloth in the shower, but stopped a few years back when i first noticed the constant redness).

Whatever has caused it, it seems to be sticking around, and not healing too rapidly. I have spent the past 3 years taking cool showers, not washing my face, moisturizing every day and not drinking alcohol, but my face hasn't seemed to improve and i'm tired of people asking me why i'm so red all the time.

Any natural remedies people have to soothe facial skin, bring down the color, remove the fiery redness and restore it to it's previous health would be amazing! I just want to be able to stand side-by-side with someone in a mirror and not wonder why i look like i've been out in the sun all day!

Thanks!
Graham

Hello, and welcome to the forum Graham! I would recommend using a good quality extra virgin, unrefined coconut oil, on your skin topically and a spoonful internally to help hydrate the skin, soothe it and moisten it. Also an Omega 3 fish oil daily will help with the skin dryness also, I use NOW brand lemon flavored liquid fish oil. Drink enough filtered water daily, that will help.
