Bleeding between periods?

I have kind of an emergency question if anyone could help. My period (which has always been 100% consistent, 3-4 days of bleeding on a 30 day cycle) ended 9 days ago. Today, a steady, slow trickle of blood started and it's not spotting and it's not stopping. The consistency is slightly lighter than that of menstruation. I have one foot out the door to the hospital but I'd way, way, way rather not. Any ideas at all?

Hi Jmarsh, welcome. I've had mid-cycle bleeding in the past, and it was never an issue. Heavy bleeding may point to a fibroid. Have you started a new exercise program, or medication?
