Default cooking with turmeric

I keep reading that to get the benefits of turmeric, you need to cook with a fat and black pepper for absorption. My question is does it have to be black pepper? I've been making rice with turmeric and red pepper, because I love the taste.

I'm also cooking rice with turmeric and then adding the red pepper and other things after the rice is cooked, not sure if that matters either?

There is something in black pepper called bioperine that increases absorption of some components of other foods in your gut.

From what I see, it is black pepper. Non-irradiated.

Thanks,
Looks like I'll just have to use black pepper instead of my favorite red pepper. I'll probably just cook the rice with just water, then mix olive oil (fat) with red pepper, black peppercorn and put it on the rice at the end. Then the lemon juice before stirring everything up. Hopefully both black peppercorn and red pepper isn't too much.
