\r\n \r\n I agree, a cold water soak has worked very well for various degrees of burns. Keep it immersed in the water for as long as possible. Filling a small tub, like for a foot bath works well. I agree that vitamin E is soothing to the skin once the heat has left.\r\n

\nOn the way home i cut a piece from an aloe vera plant i know haha, washed the area with cold water and applied some aloe vera juice i squeezed from the leaf i got...

\nThats it for now and after its healed up a little imma put some vitamin e too, to keep supporting the area and help the body do what it needs to do...

\nYou can combine coconut oil with other remedies (lavender oil is a common one) or use some of the other remedies first, then apply the coconut oil a bit later.\r\n

That\'s because of the acids in the oil. Not just lauric and caprylic. BTW, lauric is only found elsewhere in human breast milk. The quality of coconut oil makes it antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal. It can last for 2 year on the shelf without going rancid.

\nIt might be easier to manage than honey. To keep scaring to a minimum, honey would be better due to its enzymes. Not all honey is the same, and it should definitely be raw. Maanuka is the best.\r\n

\r\n \r\n The bubble has formed, its really big because its my index finger\'s last joint.. almost the entire area above the nail and where the nail connects to the skin has a bubble which should pop sometime tomorrow, ive applied aloe vera a few times and will put some vitamin e before going to bed...

She said to wash with warm water, don\'t cover with bandage, apply petroleum jelly. Not going to apply petroleum jelly to my body. I used coconut oil. It is antibiotic, antiviral and antifungal. Warts can be fungal or viral.

\r\n \r\n Yea but salmonella is also a danger for people who drink raw eggs, and its still reccomended to do that as a healthy thing, and for athletes, folk wisdom if you will...and i would also think although i could be wrong that you can easily find a nutritionist that would reccomend drinking raw eggs...
\nSo its a small enough possibility of a salmonella infection in order to be a choice for me when i burn myself again someday and im not in the situation to use aloe vera or something else...

\nBut i must admit running water on my burn, and putting ice straight on it, or putting the ice in a towel and then on the burn, it was not even close in aleviating the pain as the egg white, i mean i swear to god the Second i put my finger in the white liquid, the pain was GONE, im serious it was like nothing happened, a great feeling after all the pain...

\nThen of course soon as i took it out of the egg white the pain would come back, less and less as the coating was forming...

\nIts not that i reccomend using the egg white if you burn yourself, but if you dont have aloe vera or other options, the egg will do if nothing else at least for the pain...\r\n

\r\n \r\n You are a bigger risk taker than I. That can be seen by your lifestyle. Egg is a bacteria medium. Just put it in a petri dish and get a microscope. Honey is not. I would choose honey. Reminds me of college days. I\'ve used peanut butter in a petri dish as a growing medium.\r\n

\nAnyway as far as burning treatments dont get it twisted i do agree with you about using honey or aloe vera being better then egg white, i just didnt have any aloe or honey(to my suprise) at work, so i sat on the net and read about garlic and egg, garlic i couldnt mentally accept it i mean that stuff burns without a burn, haha get it? so i used an egg and i must say as far as the pain goes, it was the perfect thing to get the pain away...

\nAnd i just used the egg white to get me through the last 3-4 hours at work, i need the money and didnt want to ask to leave earlier, soon as i got home i continued aloe, then vit e and now ive been using just honey, and will keep using honey untill its all healed up...\r\n

What\'s nice about it is that it is an anti-bacterial, anti-fungal salve made from Tree Resin, Food Grade Petrolatum, and Olive Oil. \r\n \r\n My wife badly scalded herself a few days ago when blending soup which had been on a high heat for a couple of hours. She immersed her arm in cold water and then gently dried her arm, I then dusted her arm with food grade bicarb, and then applied a sprinkling of Slippery Elm Powder.

I burned my index finger at work tonight, i was lighting one of those candles that soon as its lit it produces a ''firework'' kinda thing, just sparking lot of sparks, and the moment it lit it went straight on my finger and burned it...

So i put cold water first, then i took ice and put it on there, but i had to put something else to help it and calm the pain down so i came to the managers office and read a few minutes, and the thing that made the most sense and was available to me was the white from an egg, and i did i put it and i was REALLY relieved the second i put the finger in there, basically from what i read the protein helps the area heal and the coating which is created from it keeps the air from reaching it and so the pain is much less, im still in terrible pain but the egg thing did work to soothe the pain...

Now the burnt skin area is kinda raised and white, and my whole finger is actually much bigger,fatter right now comparing to the index finger on the other hand...

So anyway im still at work but id like to know what to apply when i get home before i go to sleep, i have to put something before sleep so that while my body is sleeping and repairing itself it has some external help in the area too...but it has to be something which will not cause pain that will leave me sleepless, im thinking aloe or vit e...

So im still at work and will be home in an hour or so, i just had to post to give more time to my post to stay on and hopefully get an answer before bedtime...thanks all
