Do lines in your nails mean you are mineral deficient? my nails are clear, no spots but have grown thinner over the years and have some creases/lines in them, a iridologist in my town said this is mineral deficiency and most people suffer from that...is this a correct assessment?
My guess would be the mineral silica. Silica is the most abundant mineral in the body. You need acid (stomach acid) to process it, otherwise it is just eliminated. I like to use diatomaceous earth.

Most likely, since most people are deficient in one or more mineral(s).
Consider that in order for vitamins to be effective, mineral co-factors must be present, or to put this another way, there are 90 vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and fatty acids... and you need them all.
Also consider there is a huge difference between deficient and optimal.
As far as finger nails are concerned, vertical lines are associated with health issues while vertical lines are not.
I have heard so much about the benefits of coral calcium and it being bio-available and such...
Could this (and all coral calcium) even Barefoots brand be contaminated from the Japan incident or did most of the release go into the atmosphere for all of us to enjoy? Funny I have not heard anything about it in the news anymore.
I contacted Dr. Barefoots customer service and they told me as expected..."their coral calcium is tested for radiation contamination and is free of any and if it had any it would not be allowed in to the US"...I pretty well knew they would say this...should I believe them?

Coral is such a garbage supplement. Mostly hype. Coral is a carbonate. Calcium carbonate neutralizes stomach acid. We've already discussed why stomach acid is essential in mineral absorption. Coral is not much different from oyster shells, which is cheaper, but still not easily bio available. Take calcium citrate or calcium malate instead.

Or I assume calcium Orotate would be good also?
Do we really need calcium from supplements? Or is Dr. Levy correct that we get enough calcium from what we consume and it's the others we really need in supplement form?

Yes. Orotate is an excellent form. Known to be able to penetrate cell membranes.
You most likely get plenty of calcium in your diet. I sure do. Also, I take vitamin D3, which promotes calcium absorption in the intestines. I don't want too much calcium.
Just playing the devils advocate...we nuked Japan in WWII and lot's of products come over here from Japan...Just wanted your thoughts...
First, the U.S. was contaminated in the 1950's and 60's when nuclear bombs were detonated both above and below ground, and these were hundreds of times bigger than those two dropped on Japan in 1945.
Secondly, two small atomic bombs are nothing compared with over 1100 spent fuel rods in the destroyed nuclear facility today. The radiation from these spent rods are negatively affecting the whole world, however, Japan is contaminated beyond any repair and should be completely evacuated.
The Japanese government lied and continue to hide the facts about the true damage, radiation amounts, etc., and tell the general population that as long as they stay 12 miles from the plant they will not be affected.
