I used an aloe vera gel once and it really stung on my sunburn, I had to wash it off. I think if I used it natural and straight from an aloe plant, it would have been much better. Natural vitamin E (D-Alpha) is really soothing for scrapes and sunburn.

I have had great results with vinegar and used it many times. The smell is not that pleasant but it works for me.
