\r\n \r\n Most cats, especially long-haired breeds, will experience issues with hairballs. They swallow quite a bit of hair with normal grooming.
\n
\n Most cats will either vomit up the hairball, or pass it in their stool. Sometimes we have to help them along with foods specifically formulated for hairballs, or supplements like light olive oil, coconut oil, slippery elm bark, etc. There are also preparations available in pet supply stores to help the cat pass the hairball, try not to buy any that are petroleum based.
\n
\nIf hairballs become too large, they may have to be removed surgically. The cat\'s throat, stomach or intestines may be seriously blocked with a hairball, causing health problems.

Exclamation When Hairballs Become Hazardous!

Most cats, especially long-haired breeds, will experience issues with hairballs. They swallow quite a bit of hair with normal grooming.

Most cats will either vomit up the hairball, or pass it in their stool. Sometimes we have to help them along with foods specifically formulated for hairballs, or supplements like light olive oil, coconut oil, slippery elm bark, etc. There are also preparations available in pet supply stores to help the cat pass the hairball, try not to buy any that are petroleum based.

If hairballs become too large, they may have to be removed surgically. The cat's throat, stomach or intestines may be seriously blocked with a hairball, causing health problems.
