are there foods (or food powders) that will boost platelet count?
I was thinking liver.. also, are there any standard process supplements that are supposed to boost platelet count (ralph)? I figure their levels of vitamins are so low, and they are supposed to be whole food, so they would not be considered a supplement by conventional medicine. worth a try. |

My daughter in law read on a tar syndrome site, that folks have had alot of sucess using gatorade (which isnt something i would normally recommend) We had read somewhere that rice bran oil will also help the problem... Im not sure what exactly we are doing right at our house, but the grandson hasnt had to have a transfusion since june (and then only then because of a surgury and also because he had gotten real sick and the stress of the sickness caused his levels to bottom out) He drinks raw goats milk, and we try to give him goat milk yogurt at least once a day. We also give him rice bran oil... He is allergic to grains, so he eats fruits veggies and meats only. I honestly believe that its probably the goats milk that is helping him with the platelette problem

we had read about the pedialyte, it didnt do us any good, it did not seem to raise his levels... but, we are talking about a baby, so maybe it might work for an adult... the daughter iin law has read that alot of folks have had good success with the pedialyte. At this point, the grandson has stabalized... we can tell when his levels get low, but thats usually at stressed times.. like when we evacuated for a hurricane, he showed the signs of low levels, but once I got him home into moms arms, all the signs went away, and his level readings were in the safe zone. So if possible, the less stress the better... granted i realize you are all in a stressful time, but try to get some destressing time in.... music does wonders!!!

Probably 800mg of folate and 1,000mcg of B12 in a good B Complex supplement would be best. |

If this is true about the B vitamins you should get a b12 level done. The most expedient way to boost B12 is trough injection, which some naturopaths will give weekly or more if necessary. We take about 4,000 of folic acid a day to keep inflammation down.
