Default Strep then thrush? Additional weird symptoms

Hi everyone, I'm posting this because I've been to the doctor 3 times now and can't afford to go back and have them shrug their shoulders again and tell me it sounds like my body is fighting it and will go away eventually! It's been a month and a half and little is changing and some other symptoms (mainly a very white hard palate and one swollen tonsil for a month now) are worrying me.

Weeks 1 and 2:

I had pretty much every symptom of strep throat except for red spots on the soft pallate, but the white spots on my tonsils looked more like granules than milky patches. My girlfriend had strep symptoms, went on antibiotics, went away in a day. My antibiotics didn't work until the 5th day, but swollen tonsils and a few very very tiny white granules remained.

Weeks 3-7:

- The tiny white granules have grown for some days, then returned to little or none, then come back and then little to none for weeks
- White stuff growing on the gums (started in week 5)
- Very white hard palate (noticed during "strep"), orangish soft pallate
- Thrush on tongue
- Left tonsil very swollen since the start, and both were swollen during the "strep" phase.
- Pulled out 2 very large tonsil stones and one small one
- Sores above uvala that look somewhat like cold sores (I often get random sores during any illnesses for my entire life, but never on the lips and never been tested for herpes, and doctors think they're just normal fever blisters and not herpes)
- Bloating and cramps (for weeks 4 through 6)
- Undigested food in stolls (weeks 5 and 6)
- Constipation (during strep and for all weeks except this week). Pretty normal bowel movements and stools now for the most part)
- Week 3 had something growing between gums/cheek, went away in a few days

I took this at a slight angle, the tonsils both look swollen but the left one is much more and I don't think the right one is swollen at all, it's normally like that.

Treatment:
- Have been on higher and higher doses of probiotics (with pill coatings to make it through the stomach), yogurt, and chewable probiotics (to try to keep some in the mouth)
- Been on a pretty restrictive diet the past 2 weeks after learning more about candida. Mostly veggies, salad, flax, a bit of fish, beans, yogurt
- Take strong mult-vitamins and garlic
- Took a candida yeast fighting supplement with I think it was 260mg of the acid that supposed to fight bad bacteria, but ran out and stopped taking it 5 days ago.

Other notes:
- The day before I got "strep," I was swimming in a remote river and swallowed a bunch of water by accident
- My girlfriend just got a sore throat again this week and the doc gave her antibiotics again
- I rarely get sick, never had strep before, pretty healthy in general and this is the worst I've ever been sick and I'm 31.

Also take 2 tablespoons of unrefined (virgin) coconut oil daily. It contains that acid which you were taking for Candida - caprylic acid. But it also contains 7 other acids that are antibacterial and antifungal. It is also reputed to by antiviral.

Coconut oil will not become rancid as quickly as other oils. It can remain on the shelf, out of the refrigerator, with no problem for 2 years.

You can even use it on your skin or even as a deodorant. After all, it is antibacterial.

Search this BB for recommendations on vitamin C and D.

Cut all wheat, grains, potatoes, pasta and all other simple carbs.

Gargle four or five times daily with a saline mixture using gray sea salt.

Don't kiss the girlfriend or vise versa until your both healed.

I just recently got some virgin coconut oil. Not only mighty tasty but within a week I felt a boost in alertness and energy. I also quit caffeine about the same time so I can't be positive it was the coconut oil but I am going to stick with it.

Default Update 1

Thanks everyone! I've started coconut oil intake as a great suggestion, though I haven't looked into the difference in mg intake I'm getting versus other caprylic acid supplements, so I will look into that and try to get a better dosage.

I'm also getting more vitamin C and D, which I have no idea why I wasn't taking more Vitamin D, something I often take for any illness because I find it does wonders!

I started eating a lot of cabbage and flax seed now, and have been doing the salt/water gargle for about a week now with zero difference in oral symptoms.

I have been on a candida diet for weeks now, with no symptom changes barely at all, except for more energy in general, so I tried going back to my normal diet for a few days. What resulted is lots of bloating and constipation, anxiety and stress, and an increase of the white granules on my tonsils (which now make it look much more obvious, looking more like bacteria growth than anything else....mostly growing along the outer edges of the tonsil cavities, I will try to take another picture soon).

Thought I would post another clearer picture for anyone who was curious or had any experience with these type of white spots for candida. Notice the white spots are more like a lattice of tiny granules more than patches as normally mentioned and shown everywhere I've seen. Also a better picture of the sores, but even my doctor said those are just fever blisters brought on by the stress of this....and they're starting to go away, they were raised bumps before.

Note: I superimposed one image over another because you could see the white spots better.

Hi Green,

As "grist for your mill," are you aware of the almost miraculous results many tens (hundreds?) of THOUSANDS of people have experienced, dealing with MOST of the health issues known to humankind, from ingesting the powerful antioxidant, ascorbic acid?

If you are seriously interested in finding a solution to your health problem(s), and gaining better health in ALL areas of your body, I STRONGLY encourage you to read [at least the first ten paragraphs of] this article written by Dr. Robert Cathcart, M.D. https://vitamincfoundation.org/www.or...om/titrate.htm

It may just solve some or all of your problem(s). You have only better health and well-being to gain by applying its recommendation. What have you got to lose?

These two quotes are instructive:

"There are more than ten thousand scientific papers that make it quite clear that there is not one body process (such as what goes on inside cells or tissues) and not one disease or syndrome (from the common cold to leprosy) that is not influenced - directly or indirectly - by vitamin C." -- Dr. Emanuel Cheraskin, M.D., Dr. Marshall Ringsdorf, D.M.D., and Dr. Emily Sisley, THE VITAMIN C CONNECTION.

I have never seen a patient that Vitamin C would not benefit. -- Dr. Frederick Klenner, M.D.

I wish you BEST success, Green, in your search for a solution to your health issue(s)!

Sincerely,

David

Exclamation It's not candida!

Update:

It's not candida!

I went to another doctor, one I've seen many times years ago and trust her opinion, and she said none of what I have is candida related except the white on my tongue, which is now a ton less. (and what she said matched the other doctor too, though he couldn't pin-point everything else she did...see below).

The only thing that has changed during my candida cleansing, is my tongue. It was a lot more white for a week, but when I started my cleanse my tongue got better pretty quickly and has remained pretty low whiteness since. I'm sure I still have candida, but it's not what's causing all my other symptoms.

She said all of my symptoms are from a compromised immune system from strep and antibiotics. She made a lot of sense in her conclusions and based upon my symptoms. The sores are just fever blisters from the stress, the white granules are actually normal bacteria growths like the ones that form tonsil stones. My red throat has gone away, the tonsils are way less swollen and pretty much normal except a tiny bit of red and swelling still. And my digestive problems are from IBS..Irritable Bowel Syndrome (which I can confirm because I've been testing many different foods and the only thing consistent with the pain is eating too much or iterative foods like peppers, and right after meals, not later from die-off. And probably from too much antibiotics and diet change, which I stopped 3 days ago and already feeling a lot less sore and problems after meals).

And the white growth on the gums is some kind of fungus, not candida, probably lichen planus or something very similar (she wasn't an expert on that stuff).

So be aware, digestive issues might resemble die-off symptoms, but could also be something else, like IBS! I will update again if IBS doesn't turn out to be the problem. I'm back on a more normal diet testing the waters. I did however learn that candida cleansing changed my mood a lot, I feel a lot better, though I usually feel better when I eat super healthy, which is what candida cleansing really is. I'm going to stick to more healthy eating now because I think and act so much better.

Coconut oil is - antibacterial -- antiviral-- and anti fungal. You should consider continuing to supplement your diet with coconut oil. 2 tablespoons daily.

Also fungi love sugar. Actually, so do bacteria.
