Default Quadriceps cramp

Woke up last night and I was just starting to get a cramp in my quads. I have had calf and hamstring ones but this one would have been devastating I think. I got up and stretched, took 100 mg magnesium and a potassium supplement. Anyone ever get those?

My husband used to get them sometimes when working for a long time on ladders...he found relief when I rubbed in magnesium oil.

Thanks, I have that mag oil and will rub my quads a couple times a week with that. I do not want a full blown one under any circumstances, it seems they are much worse than a charlie horse.

I can assure you you do not want a full blown one. Of course you will never get to know the full and true meaning of pain until you do. While a charlie horse will immediately get your attention these do way more then just get you attention. You will be reduced to a totally useless quivering mass of pain. Nothing you can do seems to help. Even the magnesium oil seems slow acting as time appears to stand still.

I could tell when it started and I averted it that if it would have happened, I would of been screaming

I think the potassium was a good call. As I understand it, its related to poor hydration.

I try to stay hydrated, but now that you mentioned this, I will even more.
