Bob goes away to college and once he settles in, he calls home and talks to his brother Jim. He asks Jim "Well, how's my cat Mr Whiskers doing?"

Jim says, "Your cat's dead"

After getting over the shock, an annoyed Bob says "You shouldn't have told it to me like that Jim! "

Jim asks "How should I have told you then?"

Bob says, "The first time I call home you should say, your cats up on the roof and refuses to come down. The second time I call you should say, your cat is coughing up hairballs and doesn't look too good. The third time then, you could say, your cat has died."

Jim says, "I see what you mean. I'm sorry Bob."

Bob says, "That's ok. Well then, how's Mom?"

Jim says "Mom's up on the roof and she refuses to come down."
