Default Frankincense kills bladder cancer cells

My sister has had two surgeries for bladder cancer in the last 6 months and now has another scheduled to get a closer look at an infection. A biopsy said it was not cancer, but one of three doctors isn't convinced. She may lose a good share of it this time.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Mar 17, 2009 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Enriched extract of the Somalian frankincense herb Boswellia carteri has been shown to kill off bladder cancer cells, U.S. researchers said.

H.K. Lin and his team at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and Oklahoma City VA Medical Center evaluated frankincense oil for its anti-tumor activity in bladder cancer cells.

The study authors investigated the effects of the oil in two different types of cells in culture: human bladder cancer cells and normal bladder cells.

The study, published in the BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine, found that frankincense oil is able to discriminate between normal and cancerous bladder cells in culture, and specifically kill cancer cells.

Gene analyses were performed to determine how frankincense oil affects bladder cancer cell survival and the researchers found that the oil suppresses cancer cell growth by arresting cell cycle progression and induces bladder cancer cell death by activating multiple cell death pathways.

"Frankincense oil may represent an inexpensive alternative therapy for patients currently suffering from bladder cancer," Lin said in a statement.

And so will baking soda in just two days. But for me by only drinking the stuff the cancer came back shortly there after. After three such episodes I changed to Mighty Mouse Supplement. That was over a year ago and now with no more apparent trouble and with no previous doctor visits.

Good for you BigAl!

My sister has a son-in-law that's an allopathic doctor so natural remedies aren't even considered. I sent her this article anyhow. Maybe eventually she'll figure out that her doctors haven't cured her either.

My brother was telling me how they were thinking of going through the urine pathway and inserting some horrible bacteria that was supposed to devour the inflammation...thankfully they have changed their stratagey! But I told him that she'd be better off if they inserted sodium bicarbonate instead. Well, he thought that was really barbaric...after all, he uses that stuff to remove battery acid from his car battery posts! If I understand right, it's simply because soda is neutralizing the acid and changing the PH. That's why it helps cancer too, or so they say.

Mighty mouse supplement? You have a link for that BigAl?

and can you tell a little more about your experience using baking soda? How much did you drink, for how long and did you have before and after tests?

Nightowl is correct. I did not use that usual term because I trust the U.S. FDA as far as I can throw an elephant.
Biopsy 14 years ago indicated prostate cancer. So last year with a PSA of 36.5 and with a sudden initiation of beaucous of blood in my urine what else but bladder cancer?
I made three attempts to treat the problem. First for six days I injected about 1/4 cup of a saturated solution of Arm and Hammer baking soda and filtered water into my bladder. In two days 99 and 44 one hundredth percent of the blood vanished. But after stopping a few days later the problem returned.
The injections were messy. So I next tried drinking one teaspoon of the soda in water a day for six days. It worked fine but with the same end results.
The injection method seemed safer so I went back to that until frustration led me to the use of the Solution. With six drops a day for over a year everything with my bladder has been tops.
I think the soda would have worked fine for me if it were injected into the blood stream as per Simonsini.
