When you do a vit. C challenge to see how much your body can tolerate before getting runny stools, is that the amount you should take daily?

Vitamin C can be so many wonderful things to the body: antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant.

Linus Pauling took 18 grams each morning. That was his amount. He didn't even spread it throughout the day which seems odd as it's water soluble and would just flush through his system in that large of a quantity.

Gee, Pauling had a high tolerance and generally they say the more you can tolerate the more you need due to your own bodies high demand due to illness... but he did have cancer, and I assume for quite a while. Prostate cancer wasn't it?

You should find the dosage that is just one gram below causing the runs.. but be aware that if you get sick that your needs may go up instantly so if your tolerance is 4 grams on a good day you may need 10 grams (or whatever) before the runs start to set in when you are ill. Its all highly variable in each individual.

If you learn to make lipsomal vitamin c you can avoid all of this.

Vitamin C also repairs artery wall damage, kills viruses, boosts the immune system, and reduces inflammation by neutralizing oxidative stress from free radials.

Linus Pauling took straight ascorbic acid rather than a buffered form, and in my opinion, would have had less bloating/gas/ and other digestive tract issues if he would have taken the 18 grams in divided doses throughout the day. He did have prostate cancer for many years, however, died at age 93, which is pretty good for his generation, or any generation for that matter.

Vit. C seems like a magic bullet if there was one. I purchased a bunch of liposomal vit. C a while back. Should start taking them.

It would be nice to make your own.
