Need opinions now...Please!

My 95 year old dad just fell and broke his femur, they hospital is calling it a hip/leg fracture and recommending surgery, at his age is this the correct road to be going down?

I was away when you posted @cyber-junkie , how is your dad doing now? Did he get the surgery?

Years ago my mother in law was in her 80s and broke her hip. She didn't make a big deal about it and did not go to the hospital. After that time she was in the hospital for something else, and the doctor told my husband that her hip healed very well on its own. I'm thinking if it ever happened to me, I just may pass on the surgery also....unless I was in extreme pain.

Oh boy at 95, I would be surprised any surgeon would want to do a major surgery on a person that old....How is he doing.
