Kefir versus Greek Yogurt

I keep seeing some foods that have probiotics pop up on lists of foods you should eat daily. Kimchi and sauerkraut are always on the list, which I do eat kimchi once a week, but found out that the process of making it requires them to both be high in sodium. I still love eating kimchi once a week

Well I keep seeing Kefir on the list and didn't know much about Kefir. I tried googling a little bit and a lot of sites have it as being healthier than yogurt. Claiming more probiotics and the yeast required makes it a lot healtheir than yogurt. Some links say it has more protein than yogurt, but I just picked up a bottle and it has 11 grams of protein on it, which seem more similar to regular yogurt as the greek yogurt I've been getting is about 22 grams of protein.

Just wondering if anybody has an opinion on kefir when comparing to yogurt? It tastes very similar to me

The bottle on the back says kefir originated in the Caucasus mountains, which at one time had one of the highest populations of people who lived to be over 100 years old. But this link says people there don't even live as long as people in the USA lol

I use that brand when adding to my goat yogurt for smoothies. Just in case.

What I would like to find is Bulgarian Yogurt in the glass jar. Found it ONCE. LOVED IT.

I just wish the LW Kefir wasn't so processed to death. I drink Plain - Kefir *not the low fat and I eat the plain goat yogurt. As for taste, I prefer the yogurt.
