Coconut Butter and Blocked Ear

I have recently been having a lot of problems with a plugged ear. My work insurance has changed and it doesn't cover office visits, so I didn't want to pay $200 to my doctor, get referred to an ear specialist who would charge another $300 and then pay $100 for ear drops that would be just like $10 over the counter ear drops so I tried to fix it on my own. Ear drops didn't work and this went on and on until I got creative and filled my ear with coconut butter I got from Trader Joes. The next day, after 3 weeks, my ear was unplugged and it is still good weeks later. I can only guess that because coconut oil, which the butter is made from, is a natural antiseptic and killed any bacteria and promoted healing in my ear. Just a guess - but it worked great when ear drops did nothing so I just wanted to pass it on.

Thanks Ajax, interesting information there! Been a long time since I had a plugged ear, but I'll keep that in mind. I never use coconut butter, but always have coconut oil on hand. Do you think the oil would be just as effective, maybe blocking the ear opening with a cotton ball so it didn't melt and drip all over?

What are you using the coconut butter for Ajax, skin care? Just curious, never bought it before.

I use it mostly for wounds. It ssuper speeds up healing better than neosporin and my gf uses it for her skin allergies. She says it works better than essential oils.
