There was a blurb in the AARP mag recently saying: "Fast Pass - Scientists now say there's no reason for patients to fast for six to eight hours before testing of cholesterol levels. .
Doctors have no power over you and they can't force you to do anything. To say your doctor has "agreed" to give you 6 months to make a change before they force drugs on you, is to give your doctor far too much power by buying into the illusion of authority. I would not suffer the nonsense of a doctor who goes around trying to push drugs on people, especially not for something so innocent as high cholesterol. I'm sure your doctor is a very nice person, but she is either knowingly or unknowingly in the pocket of the drug companies and seems to know very little about health (with doctors this is the rule rather than the exception).the doctor wants to medicate me for but she has agreed to give me six months to bring it down myself
With the new findings in medical science, people at risk for heart disease should worry much less about cholesterol and much more about gluten.

of course the doctor has no power over me, final decisions are mine alone.Cholesterol is not the villain many think it is.

I will say it again - cholesterol is not the villain many think it is. Cholesterol-lowering drugs, on the other hand, are horrifically devastating to your health.
Dr Michael Mosley did an interesting experiment on the effects of high meat consumption, for 30 days he consumed 130g per day of red and processed meats, .

processed meats are bacon,ham,salami etc
think you missed the whole point and nit picked only part of experiment. From a paleo perspective, those are not healthy foods. That would be the equivalent of criticizing a vegan diet because potato chips are vegan.![]()
think you missed the whole point
Thats the problem with most "truth about" webpages. They fail to take in the whole picture and just pick out the part they want to prove their point, whether erroneous or not. Me, I'm throwing organic extra virgin coconut oil in everything and --hmmm -- lost 10 pounds and have the blood pressure and heart rate of someone 25 years younger.No. Processed food is processed food.
If I eat GMO corn fried in GMO soybean oil and get cancer, does that mean vegetable based diets are dangerous?![]()
