Default Will Vitamin C Prevent an Apple From Browning?

Since vitamin c is an antioxidant....if you put some vitamin c on an apple you cut in half...will it prevent it from turning brown?

From my understanding yes...the easiest way to do it, is to dissolve the vitamin c in a bit of water..... I use lemon juice to stop fruit from turning brown.... vinegar also works but I would rather use the lemon juice

Most supplements listed as vitamin C is actually ascorbic acid. This product lists a few other ingredients too.

I am sure you can find something similar in the grocery store.

because I'm super cheap.

And I won't buy vitamin C until I know the best kind to buy.....at the best value.

well if you are cheap, the cheapest way, I would imagine, would be the lemon juice.... this time of year you can buy lemons really cheap, and then either juice them and freeze the juice, or you can just freeze the whole lemon...
