Question Yellow-Jacket Bait

Does anyone use a Yellow-Jacket bait that they have good luck with?

I have those yellow hanging traps, but the "bait" solution that comes with them is pricey, yet not very effective.

I looked online years ago, and tried suggestions to use meat in the Spring, because they're looking for protein, and fruit in summer. I've tried all combinations of both of these, with no good results.

They nest in my siding, and come into the house through the chimney, also have stepped on them while barefoot in the yard. Any ideas that really work? Thanks.

I havent tried it yet, but I have heard that an apple with apple cider vinegar in a jar will attract them. but can you get an apple in your trap... maybe applesauce? I might try mixing some together and put it into a plastic bottle, set it out around where your little buggers are and see if they go into the bottle... supposedly once in the bottle for some reason, these guys cant get out... but Im not sure how true that is either

It's re-usable, and the bottom screws off to fit pretty good sized pieces of fruit. I've tried peaches, pears and apples so far, haven't tried the vinegar though. Here's a picture of it:

That's a cool little trap. You always see them landing on soda cans at picnics so I'd try good 'ole Coke or Pepsie!

One of those (REALLY BIG) cadillac bees has been flying around the house lately. I was weeding a flower bed, stood up and was practically nose to nose with it. OMG!! It was just hoovering right there in front of my eyeballs with it's wings going a million miles per hour. So I just calmly said, 'okay, you can go now' and it turned to the right and zoomed off. Every hair on my body was standing on end. Lol
