Default What are your favourite or "top 10" superfoods and superfruits?

This is one of them subjects I've been looking into more and more.

The Superfruits and Superfoods that are available to buy.

Does anyone have any direct results or reviews of some of these products? and what are the one's that are really worth looking into?

Default Good foods and drink!

I've tried Mangosteen juice, and the fruit in a can. Although I'm sure it's good for you, it's very sweet and expensive.

I don't know if you'd call these "superfoods"...Royal Jelly, a bee product I've used in the past from Montana, it comes in a jar and costs around $17, is great for natural energy. Of course you can't be allergic to bees or honey.

Pomegranate juice, I drink it all the time for antioxidant properties, also DARK chocolate. Nuts, they're good for the heart and inflammation. Red grapes, grape juice (no sugar), red wine are good for inflammation, antioxidant, cancer. Aloe Vera juice/gel is something I use also, I like the Lily of the Desert brand. It's good for soothing internally and can be good at times for heartburn, taken before bed.

OLIVE OIL, made a change to that years back and I feel it's VERY important to use, healthy for the heart. I use extra virgin and light, in cooking, veggies and salad.

Garlic and Onions are great for the heart and to help avoid some cancers. Tomatoes, especially cooked are good for Lycopene and men's prostate health.

Vegetables like broccoli, kale and cabbage are good for fiber and antioxidants.

Berries...especially BLUEBERRIES to me are great superfoods! I'm far from a health freak, but I believe that eating and drinking things like these really help us to stay healthy. Although there's some disease and sickness in my family, I'm over fifty and have no issues yet and I don't take any prescription medicines for anything.

PS: Almost forgot fish for Omega 3, my fav is Salmon, also citrus fruits, help keep the body alkaline.

Default Mangosteen Juice

I've had some terrific results drinking Mangosteen juice. Are there specific things you are looking for in these superfruits/foods?

I'm currently into this antioxidant drink which has a lot of fruits in it including mangosteen, grapeseed, acai, pomegranate, noni, wolfberry, bilberry, blueberry, strawberry, cranberry, blackberry, raspberry and a whole lot more. You get all of those fruits in 1 bottle. I've heard a lot of testimonials from people recovering from cancer, kidney problems and other diseases. Both my gradmas died from cancer so i guess i got the genes and i'm trying to live a healthier life to avoid it. we also have cholesterol problems in the family and high bp and the juice keeps the levels down. you guys should try it.

There is some good news, the expression of your genes depend on lifestyle. The relatively new field of epiggenetics says gene expression depends on the enviornment. This means that we have more control over our health than our genes.

Genes can be modified by our lifestyle. We know that people can prevent disease by certain dietary habits. You are what you eat is a statement that may fit. The expression of genes can change because they are influenced by external factors. One of these factors is diet.

The best way to prevent a disease is through diet, the best way to treat a disease is through diet. All whole foods are superfoods. Organic fruits and vegetables are superfoods.

Plant foods are full of phytochemicals that are proven prevent and treat many conditions. Broccoli contains sulforahane that is known to protect and treat many of the diseases that are so prevalent today.

I have been taking Borojo capsules - it's a fruit from Colombia that has a very high polyphenol and antioxidant count

Apparently in Colombia they mix the fruit into a juice, but here it's not available, so I'm trying the capsules... I ordered them online form nutropical - so far so good - I do feel like I have more energy lately...
