You can take a supplement like kelp, however, the benefit is in the dose and you just can't get enough from kelp.
The thyroid needs iodine while most other organs need iodide, that is why I recommend Lugol's iodine because it contains both. True Lugol's consists of 5 grams of pure iodine mixed with 10 grams of potassium iodide and the other 85 parts pure water. The solution does not taste very good, however, by mixing a few drops in an ounce of pure apple juice the taste is very well hidden. I take 30 drops per day which equals to about 75 mg of total iodine. This is approx 500 times the RDA of 150 mcg.
What does this all mean? The RDA is way too low to do any good.
The RDA for D3 is 400 I.U. per day while the RDA for vitamin C is 60 mg. Again these values are too low to be beneficial. D3 should be a minimum of 4000 I.U. per day while C should be a minimum of 3000 mg per day in divided doses.
