tooth is on a distinguished road
Default Tooth cavity.

About a year and a half ago I found out I had a cavity.
My parents are poor so I said nothing about it and figured I would say something if it ever got serious (I.e. pain).
I am sixteen now and the cavity seems to have made little progress, does not respond to hot or cold, no dis-coloration... But every now and then lately there is a ever so slight pain (slight!).

Should I wait until I get a job this summer? or, tell my parents now?

( 18 weeks until I can get a job)

First read this site and see if one of these kind of dentists are near you. When you are ready plan to go to them
http://www.healthsalon.org/478/biomimetic-dentistry-ozone-dentistry-avoiding-root-canal-dr-alleman-dds/

Meanwhile you can do these things to forstall cavity growth:

also, get some mms and use a few drops activated and mixed in about an ounce of water to rinse your mouth with about 2 times a week. If you want you can use an eye dropper and just drop it on the tooth and let sit for 2 minutes then rinse.

Can I not just avoid sugar and brush my teeth like a insane/retarded person for 18 weeks? I have been brushing my teeth after eating ANYTHING (7-9 times a day )...

Well, I'm not sure how much that would benefit you. Just how clean is your tooth brush that may be harboring bacteria?

Brushing is good. Soak your tooth brush in hydrogen peroxid to kill the bacteria it holds. I'm sure you could find a few things you could implement, like toothpaste with xylitol found at most healthfood stores and avoiding flouride.

I have one cavity that has not progressed now for over 20 years. So I just leave it but, unlike you I do not have pain at the site. Pain is always a symptom that indicates some kind of problem
