Default Anyone taking any flora good bacteria products?

Any bad side effects?
When is the best time to take it?
Does it react or interact with any other vitamins or food?

I'm presently taking Probiotic Acidophilus by American Health. I bought it at my local Vitamin Cottage store. It contains a probiotic blend of over 20 billion active Lactobacillus acidophilus, bulgaris and thermophilus.

I take it whenever convenient, and have had no bad side effects. I'm not aware of any interactions with my other supplements or food.

I use "Dr. Ohira's Probiotics 12 plus" http://drohhiraprobiotics.com/index.html

Quote:
Dr. Ohhira Probiotics 12 PLUS is a high technology, 21st Century, synbiotic product containing 12 strains of friendly bacteria (probiotics), naturally occurring FOS (prebiotic nutrient important to intestinal well-being), 4 organic acids (helps establish the proper pH environment in the colon) and important micronutrients, including vitamins, minerals and amino acid, Dr. Ohhira Probiotics is hand-gathered from the mountains and carefully harvested from seas of Japan, various vegetables, fruits, seaweeds, roots, mushrooms, barks, leaves and herbs are blended using ancient Japanese traditions and are naturally fermented to produce an award-winning, totally vegetarian product.
I follow the instructions and take 1 in the morning and 1 at night (usually, if I don't forget!)

Have not experienced any side effects.

Cheers,
BB

What I like about Dr. Ohhira's probiotics, is that they ferment those source components for 3 years. Fermented foods are very good for us. Sauerkraut and yogurt are especially good.

I just got my newest order of Dr. Ohhira on my doorstep today. It is yet another day (69 so far) of over 100 degrees. I hope those little critters are still alive.

Yeah, I didn't know until recently that fermented foods are an excellent source of "good bacteria" - good to know!

The heat and smoke from the fires where I am could nuke about anything... Hope your critters are still alive

Cheers,
BB

I'm getting more used to the heat; but I could not tolerate the smoke from those fires. I lived in northern CA (Santa Rosa); before I moved to central TX. Did not have to worry too much about fires then. I just hope this is not going to become "usual". I'll have to order all my supplements in the spring and wait until autumn to restock.

Consider just fructooligosacaridos (FOS). This is the actual fodder your own friendly bacteria feed on. Last thing you want is Frankenstein bacteria from introduction via commercial friendly bacteria sources.

I've had good luck with plain old yogurt and kefir, organic. Stonyfield farms yogurt and another organic kefir. Apples, celery and other fiber is important to have with it.
